  1. Tesla Solar Panels are $1.49 per watt. These will be grid tied at that price. Meaning that if grid power is out, your solar panels stop producing so it won't send 240V back to the grid for grid workers safety. You can add a large UPS to have continuous power during outage. If you want your panels to still generate while grid is out, you can install manual switch over and feed the UPS to the panels so the panels think the grid have power. The manual switch over will prevent you from sending 240v down the grid so grid workers are still safe. You can make the entire switch over automatic but will be the most expansive.

    ReeFi Uno

Due to the pandemic ReeFi Uno development was on hold. Now I've made more progress and will be excited to bring ReeFi Uno to market soon. Here's a sneak preview of the Uno shell.
  3. For floor support, I'm planning to get some concrete pier block with 4x4 and 2x6s in the crawlspace. I'm planning to add exhaust vent fan and dehumidify unit in both the sump room and the display tank room. I probably should seal the dry wall with some sort of paint. The pictures just show the sump. The right side of the sump is extended so it can hold additional 60gal or so of water. I'm estimating with normal sump water level, there would be additional 150gal capacity for DT drain when return pumps are off. The idea is that the 2 display tanks overflow will the plumbed under the floor to the 5 blue 1.5" PVC to the sump. Then the 2 return pumps to each DT using the green PVCs under the floor as well. The 2 ATS are shown floating above the sump. I'll need to figure out that part later. I know ATS can be very effective but may only use them as backup. I thinking of using vodka dosing with auto skimmer neck cleaning with skimmate waste connected to "mini toilet" that will flush to the sewer line. With my current setup in Hillsboro, it run into issues when I'm gone for 1 or 2 months at a time.
  4. yea... I don't have long arms. hehe Back in 2008 when I went snorkeling in the Red Sea off Egypt, I love how fishes can dash under the corals shelf. I order the glass tank from Crystal Dynamic Aquariums. They said it'll take about 3 months. My plans is to have very low tank stand, maybe around 20". I'll need to look into getting someone to build a steel stand instead of DIY wood stand.
  5. I've ordered my dream tank, 120"x42"x36"H. I've been debating if I want to convert a guest bedroom to sump filter room or use the closet under the staircase as sump filter room. I've came up with first draft of sump design that will fit in the closet of size 110" x 45" and provide a little over 150gal capacity backflow when the return pumps are powered off. One of my concern with this design is if any one of 4 return pumps need to be clean/replaced, I might have a hard time getting access to it. Also, I want to add a sink so the sump probably can't be any longer than 60" and I'll have to lose some weight so I can fit in the closet with the sink. Please take a look and let me know if there's something I'm overlooking.
  6. Love the school of tangs and corals look great!
  7. Biggest sous vide cooker ever! Good for an entire cow. [emoji1787] Sent from my SM-N975U1 using Tapatalk
  8. Add a couple ReeFi Duo Extremes. Sent from my SM-N975U1 using Tapatalk
  9. Healthy clams and non-healthy clams mental look almost identical. By the time it show signs of issue, it's almost always too late. Like what Andrew said, healthy clams should always have new white shell deposit. If not, it cause be not enough PAR, not enough nitrate/phosphate, low Ca/ALK, or parasitic snails. Also, I don't think maxima and crocea clams like to be in the sand.
  10. You have a narrow tank of 18" so I would recommend mounting the ReeFi in parallel to your tank length. 30" spread per ReeFi Duo Extreme is very reasonable if you can mount them high enough, say 10"-12" above the water for mix reef. My display tank is 72" x 30" x 24"h and I have ReeFi Duo Extreme mounted in perpendicular so each one have covers 30" depth of the tank.
  11. From Cree's datasheet and test procedures, the XPE2 are tested 7000-8000 hrs to extrapolate the life of the LEDs. They run the tests are different case temperature and power levels. LED junction temp will be higher than the case temp at any given case temp. Cree XPE2 blue led still have at least 90% of it's intensity at 45,000hrs at 105C case temp at 500mA and 51,000hrs at 85C case temp at 1000mA full power. Unfortunately Cree do not have data beyond that. ReeFi's thermal solution ensure the LED junction temp is always below 75C. Sent from my SM-N975U1 using Tapatalk
  12. I see the beginning for a new business idea... Fraghub or FragDash or UberFrags? 💸
  13. I'm in Hillsboro. I can give you some grape Montipora. They are very easy SPS. Sent from my SM-N975U1 using Tapatalk
  14. Hammers are one of the corals that got me hooked into reefing back in the days with their bubbly hammers and their movement with flow. Now, we can fine tune their amazing color with LED lighting. We are lucky to have Cuttlefish nearby. Got a lot of my nicest collection there.. thanks Jeff! Got that Dragon Soul from @Optimusprime3605, one of my favorite torches.
  15. Thanks Just got the Tamron SP 90mm F/2.8 Di VC USD 1:1 Macro. Pictures were taking either at F2.8, F4, or F5.6 (mostly F4), shutter speed 1/80th to 1/200th secs, with auto ISO. Custom white balance to blackish background.
  16. Yes, I'll finally be in town for this one! Holly, can I pick your brain on your fish room. I might be designing one soon.
  17. Due to size limit, I can only post a few here.. If you like to see more: https://www.facebook.com/reefilab/posts/3034701319897790
  18. Will you part just the tank? I don't need the skimmer or the lights. Sent from my SM-N975U1 using Tapatalk

  21. Come check out ReeFi Duo Extremes on Red Sea display tank at @CuttleFishandCoral.
  22. Looks like some super nice torches... I'm guessing I missed out. Looking forward to future Indo shipments!
  23. FYI, for reference the trochus snail at the bottom right is about baseball size.
