  1. John, so sorry for your corals loss. Sometimes, I feel that when things start to go down hill, it's hard to stop it. I'm starting to think for whatever reason one colony start to rtn/stn, it promote bacteria level high enough to stress and cause healthy corals to stn. If you're about to reset, maybe run an experiment for us by treating with antibiotics then add good bacteria like Dr Tim's. When everything are doing well, it's hard to tell if the changes we made have any impact. I know there can be many root causes for healthy tank to go downhill for what seems like no reason. I have also suffered many coral losses. I have many 5gal buckets full of coral mass graveyard. Another thing to try is to completely vacuum clean the sandbed with 90+% water change. That worked for me once. This is easier to do with smaller tanks.
  2. Give me your tank dimensions and what average PAR you want at the bottom and I can probably create a settings file for you. Then you can fine tune it to your liking.
  3. Made some small progress... Styrofoam wire cutter is pretty awesome... Smooth and clean cut! Also got matted black tape around it. Ordered fancy blue PVC which should arrive in a couple days. My next challenge will be to drill 5 2.5" holes in my floor to align with the 3 overflow drains and 2 returns. PVC outer diameters are 1.9", so I figure 2.5" hole will give me enough margin for error and not too oversized. Tore down 3 of the smaller tanks from my old system. Setup a temporary 50gal cube to quarantine my existing corals. I dipped them for FW a couple times already so they're not to happy. Transfer 2 tangs and snails from the tanks I emptied over to help with algae control. Tangs are not too happy with the temporary downsize. Hopefully they'll be moving into the new display tank soon.
  4. First samples of ReeFi Uno artwork retail box. Pre-order special ends Nov 30th: https://www.reefi-lab.com/product/reefi-uno-pre-order-special/
  5. 2" styrofoam. Waiting for me hot wire foam cutter to trim it down then I'll put black tape around it.
  6. Finally got the tank couple weeks ago. Got it out of the Uhaul trailer and into the garage. My whole body was aching and sore for days after. Hired some guys to help me rolled it in, flip it on it's side then flip back onto the stand. @spectradid a beautiful work on the stand.
  7. I've setup my old 50gal cube tank (24"x24"x20"H) and did some PAR measurements. ReeFi Uno is mounted 11.5" above the water at max 180W. Using Apogee MQ-510 to measure at the bottom of the tank. Water is still a little cloudy from fresh salt mix. Take advantage of the pre-order special of $280 with free shipping: https://www.reefi-lab.com/product/reefi-uno-pre-order-special/ Expect to start shipping out in early Dec.
  8. A couple years ago, I remembered someone mentioned they got a robo snail or some sort of automatic glass cleaner. I wonder how that go.
  9. I'm expecting to start shipping them out in early Dec or possibly sooner. I'm expecting to get enclosure test samples from the plastic injection molding next week. All other components are pretty much done. I'm also expecting to get my tank mount samples in next week. I'll have cool tank mount details to share then. Thank you for your support!
  10. When you're not looking at your talk, they auto toggles to Aiptasia mode. ;-) This was the arrangement I made with Berghia Consortium for sponsoring ReeFi development. Sent from my SM-N975U1 using Tapatalk

  12. How much PAR are you getting from XR30 gen3? With ReeFi, you'll need to worry about too much PAR. ;-) How deep is your tank? Get/rent a PAR meter so not to PAR shock your corals. Unless your tank is 3ft cube, you probably want to get 2 Unos, so you don't get too much light spill out of the front and back. Sent from my SM-N975U1 using Tapatalk
  13. I don't know... Probably less than $80 for whole mounting kit. All depends on if I can simplify the design for less tooling. Bulk of the cost is tooling for plastic injection. Sent from my SM-N975U1 using Tapatalk
  14. Yes, there will be tank mount options. I'm still working on converting 3D printable model to plastic injection. However, basic hanging wire kit is included. Daniel
  15. I've just release the ReeFi Uno specs and started taking pre-order with 20% discount. https://www.reefi-lab.com/reefi-led-uno/ Following the success of the ReeFi® Duo Extreme, ReeFi® Uno continues ReeFi’s mission to make premium LED fixtures that will be affordable. One of the hard lesson learned from the Extreme is the importance of design for manufacturing. It’s easy to make a few prototype but scaling up for mass production creates more complications. Using the latest PCB fabrication technology, ReeFi® Uno incorporates 2 layers copper substrate PCB with direct thermal path technology which allows the LED diodes, IC drivers, dual-core microcontroller and WiFi to all be on the same PCB. This eliminates many steps in the manufacturing process and eliminates many assembly concerns while still maintaining the best thermal pathway to export heat. Other innovations includes gas exchange vapor chambers to greatly improve transfer heat from the LEDs to the heatsink fins. This enables the use of higher heat density LEDs such as the 4in1 larger LED diodes, thus doubling the number of LED diodes in the same 6×6 LED puck arrays. ReeFi® Uno also incorporates ReeFlectors®, which have become one of the favorite innovations to prevent blinding side glares. Features and Specs at a Glance Complete blue to UV spectrum coverage for best coral coloration and growth. Broad wide spectrum PC Amber, Lime, with Cool and Warm White LEDs bring out the vivid colors of fishes and corals. ReeFlectors® – Anti-glare, more even light distribution, color blend, and natural shimmer in compact form factor with individual ReeFlector™ for each LED diode. 9 Color Spectrums with 9 individual channels and highest precision dimming of 0.097% increments. Auto time sync and Auto moon phase lighting capable on any combinations of channels. Design your own moon color. Easy to setup and program with built-in WiFi web server, fully customizable program schedule settings that can be saved to file for backup and sharing. Advance cooling to keep LED at optimal performance with temperature sensor and PID fan control. 72 LED diodes in 6×6 array, using 12 larger 4in1 LEDs. 180W max power, 83.3% of the power level of ReeFi® Duo Extreme. Compare to the Competition Most affordable premium Reef LED fixture, under $2 per watt. Most LED dimming steps at 0.097% increments. Most LED color diodes with individual color channel of control. Incorporates high ratio of Blue to UV spectrum to target chlorophyll A and B in corals.

  17. I have a Kymco Grandvista 250 that I haven't started for years. I got a new battery for it but now it won't start. I'm thinking the carburator needs to be cleaned. Let me know if this is something you can do. Sent from my SM-N975U1 using Tapatalk

  20. Sneak preview of preproduction ReeFi Uno. Only thing that's not the same as final production version is that it uses a 3D printed prototype shell while the production shell is still in the plastic injection mould tooling phase. This little Uno with form factor of only 7.25" x 5.68" x 1.73" pack a whopping 180 watts! Using latest 2 layers copper core PCB fab technology with direct contact from LED diode's thermal pads to copper core for superior heat transfer. That along 4 phase exchange vapor chambers are what make is possible to stay so tiny with such power. Just like the ReeFi Duo Extreme, ReeFi Uno will be backed with 3 years warranty. More exciting specs with pricing and availability will be released Oct 9th. Pre-ordering with discounts will also be available on Oct 9th. https://www.reefi-lab.com Sent from my SM-N975U1 using Tapatalk
  21. If you're already thinking of getting solar, I would get it this year for the 26% of the cost toward federal tax credit. In 2021, will drop to 22%. Tesla is planning to install 340W panels for my house with 25yrs warranty. My biggest worry is if there's roof leaks from 3rd party installer mistakes, and need to get Tesla to send someone to fix it.
  22. I've sign up for Tesla solar panels. Now waiting for 5 weeks for my HOA to sign off before installation can take place. If anyone interested, you can use my Tesla referral and we both save $100. Use my referral link to receive 1,000 free Supercharger miles with the purchase and delivery of a new Tesla car, or earn a $100 award after system activation by purchasing or subscribing to solar panels: https://ts.la/daniel54577
  23. Tesla Solar Panels are $1.49 per watt. These will be grid tied at that price. Meaning that if grid power is out, your solar panels stop producing so it won't send 240V back to the grid for grid workers safety. You can add a large UPS to have continuous power during outage. If you want your panels to still generate while grid is out, you can install manual switch over and feed the UPS to the panels so the panels think the grid have power. The manual switch over will prevent you from sending 240v down the grid so grid workers are still safe. You can make the entire switch over automatic but will be the most expansive.
