  1. Then you can probably go 4ft spread with higher mount but there will be a lot of light spilling out on the front and back for long narrow tanks. Sent from my SM-N950U1 using Tapatalk
  2. I think that waterbox is 3ft x 2ft. Spread really depends on the height of the mount. I would say at most 3ft for even spread. For tanks full of tightly dense SPS colonies, you would probably want more led units closer together. Sent from my SM-N950U1 using Tapatalk
  3. I can't wait for the display tank to be ready for corals and really show off what the ReeFi Extreme can do for coral coloration.
  4. Saw these 2 photos on FB reef group with Radion individual optical lenses which are perfect example of disco ball effects. Compare that to ReeFi's ReeFlectors which cast pleasing uniform blend of light. ReeFi's ReeFlectors is an example of one of some innovation I made over the competition.
  5. Stop by Cuttlefish & Corals to see ReeFi LED Duo Extreme on Waterbox display. Sent from my SM-N950U1 using Tapatalk
  6. Is it a female filefish? I currently have a male and would like to get a female. Mine is pretty easy to catch with a cup as he's always eager to get fed. Sent from my SM-N950U1 using Tapatalk
  7. I did a little write-up on myth about LED spread and optical lenses. https://www.reefi-lab.com/2019/07/08/myth-about-led-lighting-and-lenses/ Sent from my SM-N950U1 using Tapatalk
  8. We got some love from Reef Builders:https://reefbuilders.com/2019/07/08/reefi-duo-led-is-all-about-crazy-color/I've emailed Jake Adams at Reef Builders to see if he's willing to review my LED unit in person. From paper, he's not 100% convinced about the individual reflectors (ReeFlectors™) but I'm certain he would love the color blend when he tries it in person.
  9. Sorry for your lost... Sometimes we have to be a total pessimist and think of all possible worst case scenarios when programming fail-safes. I can give you some red Monti cap, grape monti, and unknown green Monti to help you restock if you like. Sent from my SM-N950U1 using Tapatalk
  10. Fishes look very healthy! Sent from my SM-N950U1 using Tapatalk
  11. Just tested another prototype mount with extandable parts for tanks 18"-36" front to back. This seems to work pretty well but put a lot of torque on the tank. I estimate tank need to have at least 10mm glass thickness. Sent from my SM-N950U1 using Tapatalk
  12. I like the filefish option. I had "carpets" of aiptisa on my rocks. Drop a filefish in and all seems gone in a week. Filefish is not colorful but is very willing to eat flakes and any meaty food off my hand. When I'm gone for extended period, it has a hard time competing for pellets so got kinda skinny. I don't keep softies so I don't know they will munch on zoas or not, but they do love acans. Sent from my SM-N950U1 using Tapatalk
  13. Wow, looks great! Sent from my SM-N950U1 using Tapatalk
  14. Don't try it at night, fish might freak out and jump out if you have open top. Maybe in Gen3, I can add rain. Hehe Sent from my SM-N950U1 using Tapatalk
  15. ReeFi LED Duo Extreme firmware update to V2.14 1) Fixed DST calculation. 2) HTML5 Time input with Date/Time picker (Supported in Chrome and Edge. iOS Safari still do not support HTML5 time input). 3) Date and Time sync to NTP and fallback to Google. 4) Added Thunder to Lightning demo mode. With thunder, it's hard to sync up the timing as network (router) delays various a bit, but I got it pretty close. @Optimusprime3605 and @Lexinverts let me know what you think.
  16. Nice clean setup! Now is the fun phase, stocking up on corals and fishes. Sent from my SM-N950U1 using Tapatalk
  17. I got 4 of those and they're awesome. I wish I can get more. Got mine at CnC maybe a year ago. Here are two of them about baseball size. Sent from my SM-N950U1 using Tapatalk
  18. Very nice indeed! Amazed by the coraline coverage. Sent from my SM-N950U1 using Tapatalk

  20. Yes, front to back depth would be a problem for 3D continuous print since my printer bed is 10"x8"x8". I tried printing it hanging in 3D space to get more length from diagonal xyz but need to print with supports, otherwise, the overhangs becomes stringy. Any case, I think I have an idea for how I want to make an universal mount. Curious, how many of you would buy tank mount vs using included wire hanging kit? BRS has various mounts ranging from $80 and upward. The actually material for the mount is very inexpensive but initial tooling will cost a lot. Also, shipping will be a big factor since these will not stack easily and will have to pay for dimensional weight vs actual weight. I estimate I would need to sell 300 mounts to break even at $50 if I sell directly to customer. Maybe 500+ units if I sell wholesale to local stores and online stores. Below is the what the include wiring kit looks like:
  21. Last night when I was taking the light on and off, I accidentally left it up with just one leg mount. To my surprise, it actually holds. I think I might have more options. Going to modify the design to just mount on the back side of the tank. Sent from my SM-N950U1 using Tapatalk
  22. Right now, my lights came with wire hanging kits. The prototype mounting is limited to my 3D printer bed size. For my tank size, I can't do different orientation with single continuous printed leg. I'm playing with different designs and will test out how sturdy multiple part expandable legs/mount before mass production. Because plastic injection tooling will cost over $15K, I may start with just an adapter to fit on existing mounts in the market. One of the problem with adaptor to existing 3rd party mount is that my lights are much heavier built from large mirror glass panel, higher performance cooling system, to stainless steel frame. I'm also considering extruded aluminum mounts. Sent from my SM-N950U1 using Tapatalk
  23. This is what I was referencing. I seen a lot of these growing up in the South but haven't seen them here. Sent from my SM-N950U1 using Tapatalk
  24. Shout out to @Optimusprime3605 for nice sps frags pack.
