  1. +1 on nothing but macro, easier to clean
  2. I would rather go with one of these for surface skimming
  3. Works great, I have a spa "Y" on my return thats painted black and no problems
  4. Depending on tank size, maybe. If possible, both placed in the tank the same time would be even better. So on that note I had a Achilles, Chevron, Purple and 2 yellows (among others) and they got along great. The 2 yellows and the purple all were different sizes and everynow and then would flare up but all show and nobody wounded, depending on the convict they are usually more "friendly" should work. But your mileage may vary. My tank is 60"L x 36"W and lots of hiding places gl
  5. I agree, Steve had a nice setup, with a 5' deep tank the view was awesome, his tank stand was on top of his fish room and everything contained underneath in the garage. We had a meeting/bar b que at his place many years ago
  6. It's been completely rebuilt with new springs, diaphragms, gauges, electronic solenoid and Fabco needle valve. Plug and play
  7. Make the return area as big as possible, this is where your ATO will be and the water level will fluctuate the most

  15. If your up to a drive, Garrett has several small ones in
  16. Looks good, but I would suggest covering those clear vinyl tubing with something, they'll start growing stuff on the inside from the light
  17. Yes, you can run one if you want, it's just how you wire it. One red , other side yellow - so for every red wire is a bulb and the other side is yellow common
  18. If you have a saw table saw would be the best way and a plywood blade with lots of teeth. You'll still get a crappy cut line, jagged somewhat but it'll be cut, or you could score it like glass, place a straight edge on the line and run a sharp blade (box cutter) over it several time, move over to the edge of the table, line the score up near the edge and push the free edge down in a sharp quick motion, if you scored it enough it should break clean just touch up with sand paper hth
  19. Just use acrylic for the baffles and use a thick bead of silicone on both sides (if possible)
