  1. To everyone that will or will not be attending the xmas party. Mike has pretty much made every contact and rounded up all of the raffle prizes himself. I for one would like to say THANK YOU MIKE!!!.
  2. Hey Ryan, I'll take a hat and a Lg. shirt. Hell throw in a journal too
  3. Dang i wish it was long instead of tall. I'd snag it up in a heartbeat

    My Clowns

Yes they look like a pair of black saddles. While I agree with mick I would rate the tomatoes and clarkii's right up at the top of the aggressive list.
  5. If you want to come up and hang out let me know Ryan. There's lots of chairs
  6. Hey All, I know there are some PC gamers out there that are into COD so I thought I would throw this out there. Next weekend we are having a gaming weekend here in vancouver starting on friday night til sometime sunday afternoon. The main game will be COD Black Ops (duh). It is at a customers business that I do their electrical work for and I am still friends with a bunch of people. Usually we have around 10ish people but I can invite more if I like. We have a 3000 square foot lunch room to work with. 2 vending machines, sinks, 2 refrigerators, 4 microwaves and bathrooms. Also we link to the web thru the companies T-1 for internet access. If anyone would like to join us let me know. It is a byopc (Bring your own PC )function.... Most of us stay the whole weekend. I bring a cot and sleeping bag and don't leave but you could if you wanted to. Usually a quick WINCO run early on Friday to get your food stuff and snacks. Obviously we will play some just private lan party games but most is grouped up on servers. Kind of cool to be sitting in the same room with all your teammates in a game. I've thrown this out in the past but it was always last minute so if anyone wants to join us let me know and I'll get you more details. Dave

    Clown Fish

What type of clown is it?
  8. I am not sure if Roger has responded to you or not yet but you do not need to wait for him to get started. If you can get the application filled out and sent in we can get the process started for you. I am sure roger will respond shortly. Dave
  9. Mike has made a valid point that salifert is the only test kit to measure down to the ph of 4.2. With understanding this it would be quite feasible to get consistant reliable readings with the hanna tester. The fact that they are different is not as big of a concern as the change in the value.
  10. I just read all 100+ posts. I do not believe that the hanna meter is worthless. There may be a problem or two with it but it appears that it may have been a combination of the amount of time to dissolve the reagents and the lot of the reagents. It also appears that the testers are reading consistant with all the other test kits out there except salifert. Now it is known that salifert test kits do read higher than the rest IMO you cannot say that salifert is the only accurate one.
  11. I went diving in cabo and it was ok. Not hawaii but not as expensive either. We went fishing and I caught a 145 lb blue marlin. That was a fight. We also went snorkeling at lands end I think they called it. We went in the early spring so the water was still a little cold. Fall is a much better time to go if you like to be in the water.
  12. Pulling water from the bottom and dead spots are not a concern if the flow within the tanks is adequate. Do some searches on Jake Adams and Gyre's( i hope I spelled it right). It will amaze you.... There are several videos of tanks that Jake has set up without closed loops that are phenomenal. I saw his presentation last fall and it was a real eye opener.
  13. I have ordered several pair of fish from divers den. Everything has been great except they shipped me 2 male bangaii's and advertised them as a pair and wouldn't do anything about it. Other than that livestock has been healthy and no problems.
  14. When I bought them for the clownhouse Home Depot was significantly cheaper than Parkrose Hardware. For what you have in the picture you should be able to get it at HD.
  15. I know someone wanted to meet me to bring some stuff down but I can't find who it was. PM me please.
  16. I have thousands of bristle worms pretty readily available. Just come on up and get some. Dave
  17. Kate, I may have room and could bring you down. I am picking up a friend around 11:15 in north portland and probably could swing by to pick you up also. I'm guessing 11:30ish... Dave
  18. I have brown and green in the living room tank. Haven't had time to deal with them with the clownhouse. Lots to choose from
  19. Get a pic if you can. The faces of the darwin B&W's are brown as they are juveniles and it can get blotchy as the turn black.
  20. When you say external skimmer are you referring to recirculating??
  21. i wash mine with bleach only, no soap. Then after the the wash is done I do an extra rinse cycle only and I don't have that problem anymore. I wash about 15 a week now and don't have skimmer problems anymore.
  22. what size holes are you trying to drill? I have some glass bits and have drilled quite lots of holes in 10g tanks
  23. Josh, I would start with the things you know were off this last round, ie. heater light & air. Sounds like you are on the right track so keep us posted on the next batch Dave
  24. I bought the dual inline TDS meter from Air Water & Ice. Works great and now I just push the button to get both readings. Super easy and well worth the money.
