  1. I fall in line with the other Vancouverites. 160 out of the tap and around 4ish after the RO. After a couple weeks it will creep to around 7ish and I do a 15 minute flush of the membrane and it drops right back down to 4. From what Air Water & Ice told me their membranes remove around 96-98 percent of the tds which seems to work for me.
  2. I just picked up the new next reef smr1 reactor and the warner marine eco bak bio pellets that I'm going to get set up in the next day or 2. If you are considering using bio pellets I'd really consider the next reef reactor.
  3. Hey Mick, if your down this way in the next day or two drop it off at my place. I am going to get Erica some stuff either friday morning or this weekend.
  4. Doing a large water change should not affect the cycle of a tank if the biological filtration is working properly which it is based on your parameters of 0 ammonia and nitrites. That will be the easiest way to get them down intially while you look into upgrades/changes to your system. What brand of salt do you use?
  5. I personally would opt for for larger water changes. If the water changes are to small the amount of change in the reduction of nitrates may not be as productive as a few less larger ones.
  6. Too bad you weren't closer I'd just drill it for you. Are you coming up to the meeting at Rogers in a couple weeks?
  7. I also have totes of pvc parts that I am sure we can put some stuff together for you.
  8. Erica, Welcome to the club. I do have one question tho. If you are going to do a small scale crayfish project do you have to keep the water cold or will room temperature water work? Just curious. I have a 29 gallon tank that I can give you and I can look around as I may have an extra pump or 2 around. Dave
  9. You're welcome Roger. Do you have access to a movie like that? I have heard that clowns can learn from observation. It would be funny to see you put a t.v. in front of the tank with clowns hosting anemones tho I do wonder if it has anything to do with the number of clowns in the tank that continue to school although I think if some of them figured the hosting out your anemones would get molested....
  10. wet spot in portland has them i believe. I think they come in on Wednesday. I'm calling them in a little bit so I'll let you know.
  11. Thank you to everyone that came to the meeting. It was nice to meet some new faces and chat with some other familiar ones Sorry I didn't have more time to chat with more people but there was a pretty steady stream of people coming in and out of the clownhouse. Thank you alex and dan for the rics and zoa's.
  12. I also have some stuff here that I'm giving away tomorrow. You'll have to come to the meeting to see what it is...
  13. Nothing is needed. We will have a few snack items.
  14. Well the new system is officially flowing water We got it running last night so the rest of the day will be getting the rest ready.
  15. I believe the x-mas party was at kwan's in salem a couple years back. The food was pretty good and we had quite a few people there.
  16. Hey Alex. Did I tell you there is a one Ricordia admittance fee to see the clownhouse this weekend
  17. Most likely if you have it at a restaurant you will have to use their food. A nice buffet with a large banquet room would be cool or a facility that we could rent and make it a big potluck.
  18. Mick, I will be around for a couple hours early in the morning but I'm not sure after that. Give me a call and I can let you know. Selcon is easy to come by but most any good vitamin enrichment should work fine.
  19. Go see Tim out as Westside aquarium. He has a 300g display tank that I think is abosolutely incredible. If you are looking for a wide and not long tank I believe it was 60"lx40"wx24"t or something like that. He had told me he could get a 250g version that was similar. He may be able to point you in the right direction.
  20. Mick it may be in its early stages and not affecting the fish a lot yet. Take a look at them in the morning and I would still QT and medicate them. What other fish are in the tank?
  21. Mick, I have some here. The medicine I have is called QuICK Cure. I think honestly I got it at pestmart or petco. It is simply formalin and malachite green. There are other medicines also that have formalin in them. Follow the directions on the bottle for dosing.
  22. Rick, Your suggestions are still very credible. Tank parameters can play a huge part of the fishes well being and symptoms they portray. I would Mick are they swimming into the current more or scractching up against things around their gill area?? If not I would believe it to be brooklynella over velvet.
