  1. That sucks that it jumped. Let me know if you're up this way and we'll work something out. To bad you are 2 hours away :(
  2. Beth, I think what Drew is trying to say is that he believes that the problem lies with the hosting ISP. That is why the server is slow from all of the sources that you are trying to use. If the problem is with the host there is no way to get a fast response from the server. Dave
  3. Liveaquaria does an excellent job with their shipping of live fish at least. I cannot speak for their corals. I am a little leery of buying pairs from them right now. I have purchased 2 "pairs" of fish over the last few months that were in fact not pairs.
  4. Hi Brad, Sorry I just got home. The PC won't work for what I wanted it for. I had a secret project in mind. If Mike wants it then he can get it from you. Dave
  5. No I don't have a web site yet. To date I have primarily sold wholesale to the stores and a few club members. I am working on the design and layout for a website now tho. I will probably sell some of the higher end clowns online but my focus has always been to support the local market. Pretty much all of the local stores have been very supportive towards me and purchase my clowns on a regular basis. I need to touch base with a couple again to see about supplying them also. Dave
  6. Go ahead and order from them if you want. I was ripped off for over $500 from them. It took me over 3 months to get my money back from them. Ended up having to get the credit card companies involved plus filing a complaint with the BBB. If you are considering them do your due diligence and check them out on the BBB site. You will probably reconsider after that....
  7. Hey Brad, I see the PC is a Compaq Presario. Can you give me the model number please? I am interested.
  8. I wouldn't try to re-use the top. With the dividers in it already it will be pretty strong. I would cut it down the 4" and fill it with water. If it bows more than you want get a piece of 1/4" and put another top on it. I think you will have a headache if you try to use the top again if it is necessary.
  9. Ya let me know whenever you're ready for more. Sorry to hear of the loss.
  10. fish has a reeflo barracuda pump for a good price.
  11. I should be home on Saturday if you want to bring it down.
  12. So with 1" bulkheads you need a 1-3/4" hole. I have a holesaw here if you want to bring the tank over I can drill it for you. I have drilled probably around 100 tanks. There is no guarantee but I am comfortable drilling it for you. Just confirm that it is 1-3/4" that you need. If I am not mistaken the schedule 80 bulkheads may be bigger but the standard ones are that size. It is the size I use for all the tanks in the clownhouse. Dave
  13. What size holes do you need drilled and how many?
  14. Personally IMO I would not use them. I use a the brine shrimp hatcher from brine shrimp direct. http://www.brineshrimpdirect.com/c1/c9/Hatchery-Dish-p183.html It is very easy to use and pretty consistant. You do not need an air pump and the bbs will decapsulate themselves when they hatch so all you have to do when you harvest is take the newly hatched bbs out of the center cone and restart it if you want. You can order the brine shrimp eggs from them also.
  15. First of all welcome to the club. I am sorry that you have had a negative experience this early in your visitation to this site. There are a lot of kind, generous people on this site that are more than willing to help out a new person and there is a lot to be learned if you are willing to ask the questions. I would like to see an intro thread from you so that we can see your tank and describe yourself a little. Dave
  16. Kate, I'll split one with you. I was going to order some anyway.
  17. Beth, Can you give me the information that is on your vho's now? The look like a t-8 lamp and I would like to know what the writing is that's on them.
  18. Interesting, I just am typing this with IE right now instead of firefox and I can still see yours in your avatar. I am running windows 7. I have not upgraded to IE 8 yet tho and doubt I will as I do not use IE normally.
  19. Also what I have been told by a couple of IT people that I trust that it is much more secure also. I know that there are people out there that will disagree but that is what I have been told.
  20. I use Mozilla Firefox. I like it a lot better than IE
  21. I still see everyone's location below their avatar. I'll change my signature also for everyone that can't see it
  22. I set up the new system with the Warner Marine EcoBak pellets in the new NextReef SMR1 reactor. I have to say that I really like the reactor. I saw it for the first time at MACNA last fall and had to have one. They are the only ones that I am aware of that use the cast blue acrylic for the chamber. It keeps out light to reduce the algae growth. I have played with turf scrubbers and carbon reactors on the other system but I think I am going to integrate one of these on my broodstock setup next. I realize that these will not keep up with the bioload once the new system is fully stocked but I am happy with it so far. You stick 150 fish in a 260 gallon system for 4 months with only one water change and still have your nitrates at about 15ish. That's telling me they are doing something. The only other filtration on that system is a 900g rated fluidized bed (which is a nitrate factory), a big 12" recirc skimmer, ozone generator, and carbon. I have a feeling with the ozone and a big skimmer, the biopellets are working. Now when the system reaches 2000ish fish I do not expect this to keep up but it is reducing the nitrates to a degree which will reduce water changes from weekly to every 10 days???
  23. I'll take if Frank. Can always use a spare. Dave
  24. Using GFO with bio-pellets will reduce the beneficial effects of the bio-pellets. The pellets need some nitrates and phosphates to work properly and if you remove all the phosphates they don't function right. I have been using them on one of the systems in the clownhouse. It is a 260 gallon system that has had about 150 fish in it for almost 4 months now. I have only done one 20% water change on it and the nitrates were only 10-15 when i tested them this last weekend. I know that they work but it has been better than I hoped. Considering that my nitrates are 10 out of the tap I am happy.
  25. Glad to see them in their new home Let me know if you need anything else. Dave
