  1. That is a great feature. Glad they thought of that. Makes me want it more. I know you do auto water changes daily. Do you see any issues with those of us that do weekly or every other week water changes?
  2. Trident seems like a great leap in reefing. I would love to get into it but I am concerned about short/long term probe life. If it's like hydroponics they only last at most a year with true proper maintenance. I'd hate to lose a tank due to a probe failure. That said, I want this. Although way out of my budget I would love to see what my tank could do when stabilized.
  3. The blue Stylo and much smaller pink Stylo just to the left, I've had for almost 2 years. The red planet is between trumpet and rbta
  4. I wish I had a before of the Cali tort. It was about the size of suncrests slimmer in the beginning except it was like the right branch only. What's really weird is it's just about the only sps I can get to grow besides a pink bird'snest that's not shown, and my red planet.
  5. Not yet. I think it stung my John Deere just to the left of it but it is now healing so it may have been something else. My RBTA has been stinging my red planet at the top. Now it's stinging my blue Stylo since I gave my huge finger leather/rock to another member. The leather used to block the rbta from stinging it. It's also now stinging my blastoma 🤬 I have too much random everything for a 20 gallon. I am thinking of fragging my Cali tort as it's getting too big.
  6. Here's a Cali tort I received a little less than a year ago. It's purple and blue with yellow tips Was a stick about an inch or so long with one branch about a quarter inch. It has grown probably 50x original size and I've even broken pieces off on accident. This is in a very unstable 20 gallon red sea. Alk is all over and low. No clue what nitrates/phosphate are. Two different test kits for nitrate always showed 20-30. Can't read the colors on red sea phosphate kit. I've been dealing with green hair and red cyano for last couple months which seems to be slowing down.
  7. My Wyoming whites lay eggs all the time. Saw the fry hatch for the first time the other night. Good luck with breeding them, heard it's a pia for the first couple weeks. I'd also be interested in local rotifers to maybe save a batch.
  8. I'll take last place I'm sure. Mine is now just starting a bunch of new branches at the top of one main branch
  9. Wow, I saw hundreds of babies about a 1/4" long or less in the tank last night. First time I've seen them after hatching. There were still a bunch this morning. Other fish/shrimp didn't pay them any attention. Now I feel bad for sending them to their filter sock death.
  10. That is cool. Not sure what it is. Some type of scan?
  11. If you are at cuddlefish tomorrow that would make meeting for the coral/refugium swap easier. What time will you be there? I could use a stomatella too but they tend to like pumps and don't live long
  12. Will a water change even help much? Won't the aluminum be in the rock and leaching out over time?
  13. Not high end but I have an overgrown Cali tort I could swap a piece for strawberry shortcake
  14. That is good enough proof that their testing machines or handling are not up to real lab quality. If someone is interested in finding how good these places are. Send in two samples taken from same tank at the same time except have someone else send in the other sample. If they don't match nearly 100% you have your answer
  15. This is funny. My designer tank raised Wyoming Whites started trying to host my rbta within a week or two of adding it. At first they were stung quite a bit but eventually they adapted. Now only the male gets to play in it as he won't let the female in
  16. The primehd and hydra 26 are the same except there's 2 pucks on it. I grow sps ok with one on my reefer max nano and they are only at ~70%. And I don't dose, only weekly water changes. But I get your point, just can't afford these compared to hydra 26/prime.
  17. As much as I'd love to try these, and support an individual and not a big corporation, these are way out of my affordable range if I need 2 for my 350. I was thinking 4 ai prime hd would be perfect.
  18. That is cool. Wonder how it would react with corals? Fish? Anemone?
  19. So..... 1 of these could take the place of 3 hydra 26hd over a reefer 350? Or are they more for extremely deep tanks due to the high diode count clustered tightly together? Just thinking of options for when the 350 is set up
  20. Are these comparable to hydra 52 or 26? What's the cost going to be on these?
  21. I have a question. Do LED fixtures with all the diodes clustered together cause bright spots underneath them vs having all the diodes spread out evenly for a more even coverage of the tank? Or does it really matter?
  22. Have you ever had an ammonia badge work? I've used them on tanks, even when cycling my rock when using Dr. Tim's ammonia and they never change. I've even feed that tank and no change on 3 different badges. An ammonia test shows it's there just not the badge. Did you seal the plastic to the bottom of your tank? Does detritus build up under it over time?
  23. I ordered one of the algae grazers for my tailspot. Hopefully the plastic is safe. I had the IM one but it only lasted about 6 months of occasional use before I noticed it leaked rust when I removed it. Was only in the tank a few hours a couple days a week at most. When I feed frozen I use a pipette as my tank is only 20 gallon.
  24. How are there no US sellers of something like this with as big as reef keeping is here. I'm going to order one. How long did shipping take?
  25. Link doesn't work but I found a seller. What did you end up paying for customs fees, if any? It says free shipping but I doubt that for $11. I had the IM version but the magnet isn't well sealed and rusted/leaked on me.
