  1. This is not reef related, it should be moved to out of bounds
  2. Here's Bear with a very annoyed havoc, the lab. The dog despises the cats but they both loved him. The new rescue dog, not so much
  3. Here's my baby, Crazy The Cat. Part Maine Coon. She passed last fall at 19. Moved with me from Wisconsin when I was 18. Best cat ever. She used herself as bait to catch birds out of the air. Fought with raccoons. Loved her turkey. Stood her ground against feral cats till the day she left. She was feisty but loved attention.
  4. Storm on left Bear on right. Both rescues. Storm wandered into our old apartment and fell in love with the girlfriends yellow lab and never left
  5. Do they eat Frozen or other foods? Have a tank raised Mandarin that eats frozen but hunts pods all day. Do they need low flow tank?
  6. Yes, just remember counter clockwise to loosen. Going back together they only need to be slightly snug, any more and you risk breaking the cheap as! plastic red sea chose to use.
  7. I've got a 350 and a 170, those pipes come right out from the top but it will siphon the overflow and what's above the weir grates. Do NOT remove the bulkhead nuts from the bottom. Those appear glued in place from the factory.
  8. The reefer pipes unscrew from the top of the overflow box, just turn the return pump off and unscrew one. The pipe fish should be flushed into the sump with the water. You can siphon most of the water out of the overflow before if you want.
  9. Or better yet, talk to the people IN the water purification industry, not the city sheeple that think chloramines and flouride are good for you
  10. PDXkeyboard warrior, you are the type of people that have ruined Oregon. So there. Do some research on co2 in well water and it's effect on di resin, you might learn something. More than in theory research but actual proof.
  11. I use a booster pump. I can fill a 44 gallon brute in about 5 hours with just ro. You obviously don't know anything about co2 depleting di resin so you can either chime out or do some research before posting@pdxmonkey. Degassing well water that contains high co2 is necessary or you will burn through di resin in less than 100 gallons. I ro to a brute, aerate with a large pump and air stones for a few days then pump through di
  12. So I purchased a 180 gpd mega Max cap rodi from spectrapure. I have high co2 in the well water so the RO goes to a brute for degassing then gets pumped through the di to another brute. I'm getting an odd answer from spectrapure. They are saying 3 gph is Max flow through the di resin. Any clue how that is when it's attached to a 180 gpd ro unit? Are they wrong? Why can I only run 2-3 gph through the di but if I installed the unit as shipped it would be seeing roughly 180 gpd? Anyone have some insight or thoughts. I can't see taking several days to make 100 gallons of rodi water. That can't be normal.
  13. I won't be able to get a pic till the 3rd or 4th. Out of town. Will grab a pic when I break my tank down for the move.
  14. Too be honest you need a die grinder to do a good job, or a full size buffer. Drills just don't have the speed/power. It's the same idea as polishing headlights. A drill just doesn't cut it.
  15. Ha, try a PetSmart. In Idaho where I live they have a better selection than the dedicated saltwater stores in Spokane.
  16. I've successfully used the Novak stuff to polish my glasses when they were scratched
  17. If it catches a finger nail it may need sanding. If you can barely feel it with a finger nail I'd try polish first
  18. The Novak stuff will not work on anything but fine scratches. Anything deeper will need wet sanded and polished or a lot of time with the course compound. Be careful not to do too much in a little area and work your way to a bigger area as you go or it'll create waves in the acrylic
  19. If I had the time I'd do it. I used to polish glass so plastic would be much faster. Depending on depth/quantity it may not take very long at all.
  20. What kinds are there available? Lilies?
  21. Burn them with a laser? I've only read horror stories. Maybe they will subside again.
  22. Try a place that details boats. I think tap can also do it but I'm sure big $$$
  23. PetSmart confirmed eheim is discontinuing their Jager heaters so stock up
