Holly's Frag-tabulous August $10 sale!
SuncrestReef replied to Gil&Fin's topic in General Discussion
I think @Gil&Fin Holly is single-handedly responsible for coral overcrowding in reef tanks all around the Pacific NorthWest. -

Iβve run out of room on my frag rack thanks to Holly! As always, a great selection and elbow-to-elbow fun times. π -
Bone Cutters + Stag Colonies = Free Frags!
SuncrestReef replied to youcallmenny's topic in Share the Love
I'll take one or both! Since the next meeting is at my house, I'll even let you decide where in my tank your frag would look best. π -
If any of you own a Neptune Apex Classic, be aware there have been many reports of unexpected reboots over the past few weeks. Neptune has been silent on this problem, but in the Neptune Community Forums it has become apparent that the the problem is resolved by installing the latest Apex Classic firmware update, version 4.53_4D19, available on Neptune's web site: https://www.neptunesystems.com/support/sw-updates/ If you have been experiencing this reboot problem, I highly recommend updating your device with the new firmware. If you have NOT had any problems, then just leave it alone and don't make any changes.

Someday I'm sure I'll regret not having kids... -
This is the kind of lawn game I'd love...If anyone has one of these, PLEASE bring it over: We could stuff @albertareef inside and roll him around. π€£

I have not started dosing anything other than calcium and alkalinity, and target feeding my corals a couple times per week.. I've thought about dosing other elements, but my corals seem happy so I'm hesitant to do anything new. I also think my auto daily water changes with Red Sea Coral Pro is probably giving the corals some of the other elements they need.

You could use dead acroporas as forks.

Wow, that's a huge decision, but probably a good financial strategy. It's such an awesome house, so this is a good time to get the most out of a sale. I'd be happy to re-home or short term adopt your smaller fish like the anthias and tailspot, but don't think my tank is big enough for any tangs. And I always have more room for smaller frags. Good luck!

Thanks for documenting this. Itβs fascinating to follow!

Who sells Berghia Nudibranch? AKA Aiptasia Eating Nudi
SuncrestReef replied to Matteo's topic in General Discussion
It's unlikely the nudibranchs will find their way into the sump. They tend to cling tightly to the rocks. -

If you aren't there, who will be bagging the frags? (I always assumed Holly has some dirt on you to make you do this) -

I always wonder what her neighbors think when all these people show up carrying buckets and/or walking out with small plastic bags. π π -

Who sells Berghia Nudibranch? AKA Aiptasia Eating Nudi
SuncrestReef replied to Matteo's topic in General Discussion
In my experience, I didn't notice much impact on the aiptasia for the first couple weeks, but then a few prominent ones mysteriously disappeared over night. After 2 months, they were completely gone. Just be patient. Also, you will rarely see the nudibranchs. At night with a flashlight you might see one or two on occasion. They're really good at hiding. -

Woo Hoo!!! Last time I showed up a couple minutes early and there were already some people in line. Maybe I'll just set up camp in your driveway on Friday afternoon to guarantee my spot! π€£ -
All the planning in the world doesn't matter if you don't pay attention to the "This Side Up" markings on a Gyre...π

I know a lot of members have been in the hobby for a long time, but I'm curious to know the longest a single tank has been running amongst our members. 10 years? 20 years? 50 years???

I'm not sure you should be running at your age! π€£
