Terrence publicly confirmed the Trident will be able to control the DOS in this recent video. (skip to 38:24 to see it) You're correct that it won't integrate with non-DOS pumps, but since I'm already using a DOS for 2-part, I'm pretty excited.

There are several systems currently available: KH Guardian Alkatronic Reefbot a few other less popular products The Trident will be the first to directly integrate with the Apex controller, whenever it finally becomes available for purchase.

I don't really mind manual testing and do so every day. However, the thing I'm looking forward to with Trident is having it run multiple tests per day to really see how stable (or unstable) the parameters are over time. There's no way I would ever manually test more than once per day, but if it's automated I'll love having that level of insight. I hope someone can come up with a similar automation for NO3 and PO4 testing.

Now I'm realizing how empty my tank looks. 🤣

I check my nitrates fairly frequently, and it ranges from 4 ppm to 8 ppm (using Red Sea Nitrate Pro kit which isn't granular enough to be more precise).

I agree, the contrasting colors are cool. I’m just curious if others have seen this kind of color change.

Four months ago I added a RR Tropic Thunder Monti to my tank. Here's how it originally looked: And here's how it looks today, with a lot of new growth encrusting the rocks: Any idea why the original section changed from pink/orange to a dark purple? All the new growth appears to match how it looked when I got it. I wonder if the new growth will also darken to purple over time?

I got two dragonface pipefish to eat the red bugs (micro amphipods) that are attacking my acroporas. These pipefish feed exclusively on live copepods and amphipods. They are best kept in pairs and they tend to spend all day side by side hunting pods. They are visual hunters so they can only feed when the lights are on. The only problem is that if they run out of pods they will starve.

I'm using a Nikon D610 camera with Nikon 200mm f/4 macro lens: I've posted many photos from this lens in the Gallery forum. Here's an example: I posted about my UV flashlight last week in this post: I'm bringing the camera to the March 30th meeting at Paradise Coral for the photography workshop, so stop by if you want to check it out in person.

Has anyone ever seen this before? My tailspot blenny has suddenly taken an interest in my green goniopora! (@Lexinverts Andy, you'll recognize this one) My clowns still won't go near my anemone, but I'll take whatever I can get. 😃 It's pretty cute:

My report last month showed some damaged tips, no new growth, and the beginnings of a red bug infestation. This month, I'm glad to report the damaged tips have recovered and there are several new branches growing. Not much increase in overall height, but definitely getting wider and thicker: The red bugs are still there, but in fewer numbers. Hopefully that's a sign that my pipefish are doing their job! I saw a news report that the entire street will need to be excavated and rebuilt from scratch. I feel bad for those residents. That's going to be very disruptive for a long time.

Last summer PGE did some scheduled maintenance in my neighborhood and had to shut down the power. I rented a small Honda 2000 generator from Home Depot in advance and it ran over 7 hours on a gallon of gas. I'm so glad my whole-house generator runs on natural gas and comes on automatically! It kicked on last month in the middle of the night and I didn't even realize we had a power outage until the morning when I saw the alert it sent my phone.

Wow, that sucks. At least you have a generator! How long can it run before refilling?
