  1. Im not sure what causes it. I didnt cut off the dead head. The other head looked happy and healthy so the thought of cutting it off never even crossed my mind. A few months after it died i moved it just for aesthetic purposes only and actually used the dead head/stem to glue from in the new location.
  2. Rust is like cancer once it starts it must be addressed right away or it will continue to spread and it will keep spreading faster and faster. I work in the auto body industry and we deal with rust. There are ways to stop it and prevent it from spreading. I would recommend you sand it back as far as you can and if possible even take a small grinder to it. When done you will still have some pits that have rust in them you will need to treat the metal with rust mort https://www.summitracing.com/parts/smm-69508?seid=srese1&cm_mmc=pla-google-_-shopping-_-srese1-_-sem-products-inc&gclid=Cj0KCQiA_5_QBRC9ARIsADVww15WCGEOa9jazyHyDlDKXyTEB5XgVCxjhU9NLUHO85GDi9nZwpxMSD8aAlN6EALw_wcB it will completely stop the rust given you follow the directions on the product. After use a self etch primer for steel, you only need a very light coat and should be somewhat transparent after applied. All self etch primer does is help the real primer adhere to the metal. From there you will need a metal primer. Once the primer has dried you will need to lightly scuff the primer and apply the paint of your choice, again choose a paint designed for metal. All of this stuff can be purchased in Portland from auto paint supplies Wesco, or Industrial Finishes. If you are in Vancouver area I knoew there is a place called Bobs Paint Land.
  3. Wow beautiful tanks! Are they all tied to the same sump or is each independent from one another?
  4. Mine never came back just literally disappeared overnight. It will grow new ones to replace the lost
  5. I had a hammer coral loose a head over night a few months ago. The other head has never showed any negative signs and is still healthy to this day. I never figured out what the cause was.
  6. Yes thank you everyone who has put their life aside to protect our liberties. I would like to share a little story of what I was able to participate in this year. For veterans day the body shop that I manage had the pleasure of donating a 2015 Subaru Crosstrek to a veteran through Progressive Insurance Keys To Progress program. The program Progressive runs is amazing, they give a car, usually a theft recovery that was missing fo over 30 days, to one of the shops that they work directly with and the shop coordinates restoring the car to like new again. The car we received this year was in pretty rough shape, entire inside had been vandalized during the theft and the outside was coverd in dents and scratches like it had been driven through the woods. I was able to get some parts donated, and the parts i was unable to get donated were sold to us at very heavily discounted prices by vendors. This is the third time in four years we have had the pleasure of doing this and the second time I have managed the entire process. This year the car we reconditioned went to a vet named Lisa King who served 5 years in the army and spent time in Kuwait. She is also a co founder of VFRC, Veterans and Family Resource Center of Oregon, which is an organization who helps vets get the services they are owed. Lis also donates time to the Oregon Food Bank in their Learning Gardens program. Before receiving this Subaru she had been commuting via scooter uear round and recently her scoother had been stolen. Lisa has put others before herself constantly and she truly deserved a reliable mode of transportation. from left to right Ken Kraft is the local guy for the VFW who helps the Keys To Progress program. Quy, Dustin, Tran and his wife Lien Tran are the owners of our shop. Myself, Andy Zinda, manager of shop. Melinda Zinda secretary and assistant manager of the shop, also my mom. Robbert Colclesser my grandpa who served in the Korean war joind us for the day. Me giving a speech, hate public speaking but didnt pass out. Lisa King is truly the one to honor here she is the lady in the gray sweater standing at the drivers door.
  7. Shot you a message back with my number.
  8. Im in SE Portland. I would be more the willing to share a little sand and a few small pieces of rock.
  9. Man, wish i was in a better position to take a pay cut but wife and I are saving to purchase the food cart she works at in May of 2019. It would be an amazing opportunity to truly do something we all enjoy here. You are offering an amazing wage for the job. Hope you find a great fit, you and your store deserve it.
  10. Oh thats so sad. I just saw yesterday on 82nd a billboard on the side of a building advertising his store.
  11. Got it finally Had run windows in safe mode with networking. Then is the apex flash utility I had to manually change the IP address on the apex in the configure section, which can be found if you click the magnifying glass, from 192.168.0.12 to 192.168.015. Firmware updated went first try after that. After firmware update apex reset and set the ip back to 182.168.0.12. Had to update web pages under the original ip ending in .12. What a pain bit now i should be able to hook up the dos that i pirchased. Thank you everyone who helped point me in the right direction.
  12. Holly, thank you for your hospitality. Your tanks tanks are beautiful and every frag was happy, healthy and a bargain.
  13. Thanks you two. I will try again tomorrow night with these tips to see if it makes a difference, to frustrated and tired to continue this journey tonight. I will let you know how it goes, thank you again.
  14. Just tried and screen just flashes then returns back to where i can select “bootloader update”. What seems weird is the ip of the apex 192.168.0.12 and then it trys to connect to 192.168.0.15 as soon as i click update firmware. Do i need to unplug everything from the apex prior to running the firmware update?
  15. This is turning into a nightmare trying to update my apex classic. I have both the apex and my laptop plugged directly into my router and i can see the apex at ip 192.168.0.12. When i go to update firmware the it trys to connect to 192.168.0.15 then just gets stuck. Any suggestions, see attached photos of where it is getting stuck. I have tried resetting the apex several times and i have my firewall off. Im at a loss. I just posted this on R2R aswell hopeing someone between the 2 sites knows how to solve this issue quickly, got ethernet cords strung across the living room want to have it picked up before the wife gets home

  19. Picked up 2 acros, a frogspawn (im a sucker for euphyllia), a monti cap, and a space invader pectinia. Hopefully the sticks survive water is stable and i have my light in acclimation mode for 2 weeks reduced by 25% so got my fingers crossed
  20. Yes using led, ai 26hd over red sea e170. Running the brs rendition of ab+ at 80%. I do need to get in line on the par meter booking thread but based on the tests brs did top of my rock work should be above 250 the par.
  21. Hey everyone, going to go to frag fest tomorrow and want to pick up a few beginner acros, lokking for suggestions. I actually did try a green slimer and another blue acro about 10 months ago but they slowly died over the course of a month or 2 probably due to some swing in parameters. I now believe I have my water chemistry down and have had very stable parameters for the last 3-4 months. Currently have a few sps thriving, green and purple stylo, red monti cap, lepto, and a Hollywood stunner that grows like a weed. Salinity 1.026 refractometer checked weekly when doing water change alk 7.9-8.2 hanna checker checked every day or two cal 420-430 red sea pro checked twice a week mag 1470-1500 salifert checked weekly i know its high but has been high with last 2 batchs of aquaforest nitrates 1-4 red sea pro tested 1-2 times a week phosphates .02-.04 red sea pro 1-2 times a month
