  1. If you end up having to part out just let me know. I dont mind waiting for livestock to sell prior to buying apex and RODI.
  2. If you decide to part out i would take the Apex and the RODI unit.
  3. I have been using Red Sea for everything except alk im ising a hannah checker. Red Sea test kits work well for me. The hannah checker is amazing makes testing alk fast and easy.
  4. Great looking tank, love the nems.
  5. How old are your test kits? Also API tests do not seem to be very accurate.
  6. Caught the terror lights off and stunned him with a bright flashlight good call MVPaquatics. Sending PM sd45x.
  7. Good idea ill give it a shot Ill let you know when i catch him.
  8. Got a Banggai Cardinal that constantly harasses my clowns. There has been several times i thought the clowns were going to jump from being chased. Tried to catch him for a few hours today with no luck. I dont want to have to pull rock out to get him. I will keep trying to catch him and he is free once caught, unless you want to try to catch him yourself. Any tips out there? Im going to try again when the light go out located in SE Portland off 52nd and Flavel.
  9. Great photos, i cant wait till i can keep SPS looking that nice.
  10. I was up in the air on if i should do a refugium or a scrubber for a while. After much reading and coming across this video i was sold on the scrubber.
  11. Just brown slimy algae so far. I think i drove my phosphate a little to low, .01 or less, in comparison to my nitrates, 10-15ppm, using gfo. I have done 2, 5 gallon water changes over the last 3 days and stopped using gfo. I have done a bunch of reading about scrubbers and it seems this brown algae is a common issue when starting a scrubber but will go away eventually. I think the lamp i have would be sufficient but I may try switching the lighting to a light geared more towards indoor growing. Ill keep this post updated as it progresses. Maybe someone on here with scrubber experience can throw some ideas out there?
  12. Can you post a chart showing your ai settings? I have been trying to slowly dial mine in over the last few months, slowly increasing the intensity. All my coarls seem happy so far but im a little nervous to turn it up any higher. I have a Red Sea e170 with a hudra 26 hd sitting about 10 inches above water.
  13. From cuttlefish and coral.
  14. https://www.aquariclip.com/ it works pretty well and the tint fades from one side to the other ant lens actually rotates. Takes a little practice to get the amount of the tint the camera is looking through just right.
  15. Got a gel filter designed for cellphones. Just wanted to share a few photos.
  16. Hows the scrubber working? Just set one up my self using the ATO that comes with the red sea sump to house it in. Curious to hear the results you are obtaining.
  17. Finally made some time to plumb the algae scrubber this afternoon ? Ended up going with a clip on lamp for now with a led 5k flood light. Any suggestions on light cycles? Starting with on at 9pm and off at 11am, that is opposite of my display lights.
  18. I have an aussie that was super hyper for the first 6 years of his life. Playing fetch on a hill for 45 minutes a day was the only thing that would keep him calm in the house. The secret is the hill ? only way to wear them out. BTW he is the best dog i have ever owned.

    Acan help

Of all 4 of my acans i have purchased 1 is doing great. One is very slowly recovering and flesh is beginning to cover the exposed skeleton. Another I believe is dead but late at night under attanic light only i can still see a little color in the center, have my fingers crossed it may spring back but little hope. Then there is one that some days it extends and looks ok and other days it is sunken in the skeleton but still colorful. All other coral and bta's in tank, except for a green slimer on the mend and slowly coloring back up, are doing great. All water parameters have been stable for the last 2 months at alk 8.3 - 8.5, cal. 420 - 430, salinity 1.025 - 1.026, phosphate .02 - .04, nitrates 5 - 10, and no ammonia or nitrites detectable. I have seen the best recovery with the acans with spot feeding gonipower and reef frenzy every 3 - 4 days.
  20. Got the algae turff scrubber mocked up this weekend. Using the auto top of res that came with the lower sump. Drill bit to drill the hole for the drain bulkhead showed up today, should attempt to drill one night this week. Any suggestions for the light? Leaning towards stopping by a hydroponic stroe and picking up some sort of led grow bulb that will be usable in a standard light. Figure if it can grow the green flowers it should be able to grow some algae. Also should i t it off my return pump or run it on its own pump?
  21. I put my tank in an odd spot and after it was filled walking near the tank would shake the tank. Had to crawl under the house and support as well. Didn't think my 45 gallon would put that type of strain on the floor.
