  1. The Clark, I am into raising fish and I have a 100 gal sump, 5ea 20 gal breeders, a 40 gal grow out, and a 135 gal all on one system. A second system consists of a BRT and a 50 gal sump for raising Larva. I feed very heavily and wanted a way to control algae and water quality. I built the cabinet so I could run the scrubber on off hours and not keep the fish awake. The scrubber is glass with very heavy DIY LED lighting. I can adjust both flow and light intensity as necessary. Here is the BRT
  2. I am not sure why you are using this design. A waterfall type scrubber is much easier to build and the specifications for the screen size, the amount of flow and light have all been pretty well defined. No need to re-invent the scrubber. Here is my screen: My lights: IF you go to this site, you will learn a lot. https://www.algaescrubbing.com/threads/algae-scrubber-basics.264/
  3. If you don't get the help you need, let me know. I live in the Gorge but am in Portland 1-2 times/ mo. Your clowns are doing fine, but still haven't laid eggs.
  4. I buy all of my glass through an online company in Vancouver called Next day glass. I have also had them make custom mirrors for my bathroom.
  5. I do everything DIY and I usually get everything over the internet. I live in a small town with few resources. I just completed a large 3D printer and everything was purchased over the internet. Much of it came from Europe and China.
  6. I just finished building my own printer from scratch. It has a v-slot frame, a Smoothie controller and a Prometheus hot end. I bought it with the intention of using it for drone parts, but since then I have had a few ideas for the aquarium as well. I am planning to put a new overflow design into all of my breeder tanks that will be printed.
  7. I have never worried about TDS creep. My incoming water is at 22-24 ppm. Zero out of the RO. I did put in a DI, but the resin is not showing much color change.
  8. I set my water line and then using measuring cups keep adding salt until you get the right salinity. Record the amount of salt for your next batch. After two or three tries you will get it very close. Do leave a little room in the mixing barrel so when your salinity is too high you have room to dilute it. Also need a power head in the barrel to mix the water.

    Bubble trap help?

I see you posted here as well. Have you found you solution yet?
  10. I am interested in the clowns and sent you a personal message. Did you get it?
  11. Use 3/4" plywood and you don't need a frame at all.
  12. Another thought, everybody I have talked to that have built greenhouses like you plan, have found out you must heat the green house interior, and not expect the water to maintain your temperature. Are you going to heat with natural gas?
  13. miles, I have drawings and plans for a coral greenhouse. The one I was going to build was designed in Canada and could generally go without supplemental heat. It had glass only on the south face and the glass could be covered for sun screening and in the winter, foam covered the glass at night. I still have some of my accumulated materials. My goal was to raise coral for sale. I have done this under lights, but the cost of lighting made it unprofitable. I was going to use the sun, but then LEDs were perfected, and now it is less expensive to grow coral under lights, so I have dumped the idea of a greenhouse.
  14. Having moved 17 times, I think you should repair it now. You will have all sorts of issues to take care of in your new place, not counting the packing and prep. Do yourself a favor and do it now.
  15. You keep making timers and such, you could buy an APEX.
  16. My rodi has a pressure tank for drinking water. I simply ran a 1/4" line to my 1000 gal sump and put in a float valve. No pumps, no storage tank, just a valve and a little tubing. I also have a 65 gal rodi storage container in my fish room for water changes. I feed it the same way and it also has a float valve.
  17. Buy a juvenile or small clown and it will pair with yours. The larger one will become female. The bigger the size difference at first the less aggression when you introduce them.
