  2. And they still can't predict anything with accuracy.
  3. Tell me more about the C02 disruption.
  4. Yes, don't worry about the facts....just believe because your leaders say so. How do you know?... the climate bible says so. When will the heat-up take place. I want to go skiing one last time.
  5. Your curiosity does not concern me.
  6. Tens of thousands of scientists deny it. How do we judge experts?? If doctors claimed cancer had been defeated, how can a average joe know if its true? He isn't a doctor! But if people keep dying of cancer, maybe something is wrong. How many missed predictions of catastrophe do we have to see fail before we recognize something is wrong with climate Science(Religion). New York was supposed to be under water by now. The poles were to be devoid of ice by now. Instead the Antarctic is at record levels. How about the 500 million climate change refugees?? Oh, and no more ski resorts or winter snow. When the pile is that deep, you better hold your nose. Remember Climate change is more dangerous then terrorism.
  7. Well since you didn't answer my question, I will try and explain. If two variables are related they may be in correlation. The correlation coefficient is kind of like the product. If C02 goes up x amount, world temperature will go up y. The original developer of the correlation between C02 and Temperature was Michael Mann, who then worked for NOAA. He used tree rings to estimate past temperatures. His methods and data have been proven wrong. Mr. Mann sued his detractors and lost when he refused to divulge his data, which by law should be available to the public. Having lost his lawsuits, he was countered sued and is no going into bankruptcy, because he refused to show the court his data, and of course the court ruled against him. So there is no correlation. That was the reason for my original question. If the correlation coefficient is negative, it means that when C02 goes, temperature goes down. I believe in environmental actions, but not when they are made up by activists. I believe the demonization of C02 is in the same class as religious fervor. Enough said.
  8. Why has the correlation coefficient for the C02 vs. world temperature been negative for the last 20 years?

Watch out for air bubbles slowly accumulating in the top of the siphon and stopping it.

I use a pvc overflow in my brood stock tanks. I am not sure what you are looking for.
  11. I don't think you can quote the scientific principal. You do boast a lot.
  12. Can you give us a little background on your claimed expertise. Is it just you or are you speaking for others as well? Whatever, how about some idea of your experience, education level and past publications. If you are in fact Darwin, I don't want to argue.
  13. Don't get excited. You can put more water in as they grow, but 40 gal of water will require millions of rotifers. If they are not dense enough the fry will not find them. Use less water and over the first several days you can add more. Remember, you should start adding dry food on the 4-5 th day and rotifers will be less important. Your biggest problem will be water quality and doing daily water changes on a 40 will keep you busy.
  14. If I were you I would only fill it to 7-8 gal. Then get a test tube from one of your test kits and tape it off with electrical tape so you can only see 1 milliliter of water. Now you can fill the tube and view the open area to estimate density. I would split the rotifer order into 3 parts. One for the fry tank and the other two for two rotifer cultures. You can start feeding the fry tank green water to keep the rotifers alive in the fry tank. The other two cultures are for adding additional rotifers to the fry tank over the next several days. You should be feeding dry food starting day 4-5 and can stop rotifers once the fry are eating dry food. I use Roti Grow Plus from Reed to feed my cultures and I use Roti Green for the green water in the fry tank. They come frozen and there is no need to grow green water. Remember, this is my method, but others do it differently.
  15. I am not an expert. but my experience is 5 to 15 rotifers per cu milliliter. What size is your fry tank?
  16. I use Reed. They have to ship two day and so I just watch the eggs and have them arrive a day or two prior to hatch. If I don't need them after that hatch, then I put them in the fridge. I have revived them as old as 6 weeks.
  17. I have 5 pair of clowns, two of which are currently laying eggs. I don't have time in the summer to raise fry as I am not home enough, but his fall we will see some fry.
  18. I use cadd, 123D and CURA. I taught 3D design for several years using Inventor.
  19. I thought others might like to see what a 3d printer can do. I have a fish room and I keep clownfish pairs in 20 gal high tanks. The tanks are all hooked to a central system, but each tank has a separate feeder. I feed 3 times a day with dry food and once a day with Fertility Frenzy. Each feeder has a modified funnel below it to keep the food in place until it gets wet and sinks. Otherwise, to food goes out the overflow of the tank. It’s a version of a feeder ring. The problem with my design is that it uses a funnel and there is a slope to the upper end. Dry food slides down the slope and a little bit sticks at the water line. Over a few days this builds up and starts to rot, so my food sinker works but requires a lot of cleaning. Not good when I am gone for a week. Here is the picture of one feeder: And here is the funnel: Along come a 3d printer and I redesigned my sinker ring and printed it in ABS plastic. This is what it looks like: Here it is ready to drop in: It fits: And here it is in use: So my next project is to replace my Oscar Overflows. This design is used to skim water from the top of the tank and if it plugs has a screened overflow on top for safety. I make them from PVC fittings. They are fragile and hard to make. My new design may not be round but I will show you what it looks like when I get one printed. This is an Oscar Overflow:
  20. "Algae reproduce very quickly and need only sunlight (or another form of energy, like sugar), water, carbon dioxide and a few inorganic nutrients to grow." If you want to build an algae scrubber, you need to understand how they work. You set up an area that algae will preferentially grow in and that stops most algae growth in your tank. But to do this you must understand what makes algae grow. Good luck!
  21. I ordered glass for a 24" x 24" x 12" glass frag tank as well as my algae scrubber housing. They were cut, edged and drilled as needed. I purchased them from One-Day Glass online and they were less expensive delivered than I could buy them here. On freight from China, its quite cheap. The problem is that it takes as much as 8 weeks to get some items. But if you know what you want, there are some good buys.
  22. Yes, I am interested in how oxygen helps the algae grow as well.
