GFO is really effective at lowering phosphate----sometimes too good. As Matty said, you need to be really careful that you don't lower it too quickly. Measure your Phosphate and see where your starting point is. Then use about 1/2 the recommended GFO amount in your reactor. Measure your levels again the next morning. (I had levels drop .18 in 8 hrs once, and that is way too fast.) If it is dropping too quickly, put your reactor pump on a timer so that it is on about 3 hrs per day. This will allow you to maintain some level of phosphate, which your corals do need. I have two of my systems running GFO in a reactor on a timer. One tank stays steady at .08, and the other stays steady at .05. Both tanks have a little bit of algae, but not too much. When I let my phosphates get above .15 or so, the algae starts to bloom.... I noticed this evening that mine is starting to color up too. It has a light blue edge to new growth at the base. I'm also starting to see a little bit of green on the branches.

My T5 tank is much more white than my LED tanks, but the orange and reds look better without all of the blue, in my opinion. You might get used to a whiter look.

That ATI fixture is awesome! I'm jealous. The problem with "upgrading" from Ocean Revives to another LED fixture is that almost nothing in LED looks as good as Ocean Revives---even the really pricey fixtures. It's hard to believe since the ORs are so cheap, but it is true, at least to my eyes. I do get the best color in my T5 tank, though. My reds always look better under T5 than LEDs.

Doesn't your return pump seize up with your Alk at 11, while using 2-part Cody? That's what happened to me when I got over 9 when using the BRS two-part. I had to stay at 8 in order to keep things running longer than a few weeks.

Nice contrasting colors and great P.E. at all times. Thanks Robert! I've got mine in my frag system. It's a 40 breeder with a 20 gallon sump. It's lit by two Ocean Revive T247s. Flow is provided by a Jebao MP25, and a Waveline Return pump. I'm running an oversized Reef Octopus skimmer, rated for 110 gallons. Hydor ATO. No carbon dosing or chemical media. TMC UV sterilizer rated for 180 gallons. I'm dosing Triton Elementz, which consists of 4 solutions: Alk + trace elements; Ca + trace elements; Mg + trace elements; Mg + dif. trace elements. Dosing is provided by a Kamoer 4-channel dosing pump. I keep Alk at 8 dkh, Ca at 440, and Mg at 1350. Salinity 1.025. I do 5 gallon water changes weekly. I have a yellow tang, a lawnmower blenny and a melanurus wrasse in the tank currently. I feed mysis and nori on alternate days. My nitrates stay around 10-15 ppm and phosphate usually is around .1. I've got Holly's Bad Boy at about 180 PAR right now, and I'll slowly increase it.
