  1. There is no charge for admission. This event is free for members, non, members, and family. In other words...everyone [emoji2] I'll update the main post to make that more clear, thanks.
  2. Don't forget to keep checking back to get an updated look at our sponsors!! I'll keep the main page updated as they come in. Come prepared to give all your money away to this program (wife) and have a great time!(drinking)
  3. Great to see another member. Fill us in on your system details.
  4. I made one. It does raise some questions though. Why is the clean neck better? If I don't clean the neck I can accumulate a 1/4 inch thick sludge in a week or so. It seems to keep pulling stuff even with a filthy neck. Yea, maybe it ends up accumulating in the neck, but it's still out of the water. Why is it better to scrap it into the chamber? Only so I don't have to clean it?
  5. (clap)(party)(party)(party)(cheer)(cheer)(cheer)It's hard to believe, but the winter holidays are (cheer)(cheer)(cheer)(party)(party)(party)(clap) (clap)(party)(party)(party)(cheer)(cheer)(cheer)just around the corner. To celebrate, everyone is (cheer)(cheer)(cheer)(party)(party)(party)(clap) (clap)(party)(party)(party)(cheer)(cheer)(cheer)invited to attend our annual Christmas party.(cheer)(cheer)(cheer)(party)(party)(party)(clap) This event is one of our largest annual meetings and is sure to draw a huge crowd so don't find yourself posting comments about how you wished you were there. Instead, make it a point to get there, meet your fellow reefers, have a blast, and win some prizes! This event is free and open to everyone, including family. The meeting will be held on DECEMBER 13th, 4:00 PM, at WALERY'S PIZZA in Salem. The address is: 1555 Edgewater Street NW, Salem, OR 97304 There will be many sponsors to this event, but I would like to give the first recognition to Bulk Reef Supply . They will be donating a 2-part Total Package Dosing System, with dosers! A prize that no one will want to miss out on. I will keep this thread updated with sponsors as they become available. While winning stuff is not the ultimate aim of our meetings, your officers have been working hard to bring in some great raffle prizes!! Sponsor List: Bulk Reef Supply (www.bulkreefsupply.com) Hagen/Fluval (http://usa.hagen.com) Rapid LED (http://www.rapidled.com) Cobalt Aquatics (http://www.cobaltaquatics.com) Aqua Ultra Violet (http://aquaultraviolet.com/home) CPR Aquatics (http://www.cpraquatic.com/index2.html) Aqua FX (www.aquariumwaterfilters.com)
  6. I bought the frames and screen from home depot. Total cost was 28 bucks. 8 for screening, which is about 1000x more than you need (come to Albany and you can have some), 3 dollars for the roller tool, the rest was frames and corner pieces. Your cost there will depend on rim size. I did it with my wife in about an hour. You could probably do it in less if you really wanted. We were just having fun.
  7. Idk what for, but I'm sure badxgillen could put this stuff to use. He's the DIY-man!
  8. It's my understanding the bulbs of different ages will produce different color spectrums. Like a year old bulb won't look the same as the exact bulb brand new. So I think you would want a newER bulb.
  9. Unfortunately, there seems to be a decent flow of sumps and tanks around here. That makes selling them for a decent price tough to do. There is no way to be sure, but I think your asking price is likely keeping people from making offers. I wish you the best though!
  10. Haha, what can ya do? It's really Josh's fault with the way he grabs tickets
  11. Hey Chad! Good to see you making a switch to not only PNWMAS, but to the PNW in general. Summer in this area is about as perfect as perfect gets! You'll be amazed. Unfortunately, I hope you're prepared for rain for the other 8 or 9 months. Have you been to this area before? I look forward to meeting you next year. We have meetings every month and a great group of reefers to pull knowledge from. Keep us updated about things.
  12. I've got one of these: http://m.ebay.com/itm/Hydrofarm-EnviroGro-T5-HO-High-Output-Fluorescent-2ft-2-Lamp-Fixture-w-bulbs-/121146243583 PM me if interested and we can work out a deal.
  13. Yeah, I've been taking pictures. I'll have to start the reef thread here pretty soon. I've been putting it off for weeks. Now I have no excuses to not do the swap. Maybe in a week on Saturday? I'll have to borrow some buckets from you.
  14. Hey thanks for the lead. I ended up getting this unit.
  15. Dang that's not bad. I'm not looking for a pro, but wouldn't be opposed. A tad bit more than I was planning on spending. I make make an offer though. Thanks a lot!
  16. To the topity top! I know it's a long shot...don't make me buy from some sketchy eBay seller :(
  17. What are your water parameters? Do you have pictures of the algae? A simple way to determine if your ro unit is not working properly is test the water. Check phosphates, nitrates, and TDS.
  18. I'm looking for one. Let me know the damage and we can make a deal. I have cash and/or coral.
  19. Thanks for everyone's input. I think I'll just place the water level near the brim and if it fluctuates into a trickle I won't care.
  20. Unfortunately, most cichlids don't do well with plants. On second thought, I guess it's the plants that don't do well with the cichlids. There are some beautiful dwarf cichlids: Altispinosa, German Blue Ram, and Electric Blue Ram come to mind. I've been on plantedtank.net for a while now. Great info there. That tank is my 75 I've had for about three years.
