I received my bachelor's and my master's from Oregon State. I will never in my life root for the ducks. Happily rooted for them to lose the Natty before and will root the same way if they make the playoffs. It's not about the state when you spend enough time with a particular school. If it was about the state, then all of California would cheer on USC, UCLA, Stanford, and California. I assure you they do not.

Obviously I'm living in fantasy land. As much as it pains me, I have to acknowledge that the Ducks are a solid program and the chances of an upset are extremely slim. However, I think wehave upset more top ten teams in the last ten years than any other program. I recall reading some stat about that. What's difficult for me is that every one is a Ducks fan, yet rarely do any of these people have any ties to U of O or Eugene. I can understand as Oregonians if you like both teams, that's the understandable expectation. However, I can't seem to understand why the majority of Ducks "fans" are so in favor of that program over Oregon State, yet they have no personally affiliation with the program. It's a straight bandwagon group of people.

My current goal in life is to cheer the Ducks out of any national championship hopes. Yes, I care about getting to a bowl game, but I want to ruin the Ducks dreams. The only thing worse than the Oregon football team is their fans :)

Just out of curiosity, how long have you been a member of the community? I recognize that we had the site crash, but even then, most people that were here before that have October as his or her join date. I am just asking because you are making suggestions that are very grand for someone who is potentially brand new. I am not trying to be rude, but I am honestly curious. If you have been here for a long time, by all means, you are free and entitled to make this post. However, if you only have been here for two posts and one week, then I would think you aren't "entitled" to post this. Yes, you are still free to, but maybe you don't possess the full entitlement to do so. Sorry for the repeated use of entitlement because honestly, that may be the wrong word. My hope is that you understand what I mean when I differentiate between whether you have the RIGHT to make such a request and whether you SHOULD make such a request.

Yeah, unfortunately I don't have a controller. Maybe some day when I'm rich and famous. This is good info Mandinga, thanks. My return line actually has a one way valve, but it doesn't work. I think it might be clogged or something. Whenever the power is cut to the pump, the one way valve just bounces up and down repeatedly. Like it wants to slam shut, but it keeps popping open. It is pretty loud and quite frankly, annoying. It just goes thud, thud, thud, at a rate of about 2 per second. Needless to say that water still slowly but surely moves from the DT down to the sump. Because of this I need to keep the loclines pointed fairly high to help break the siphon, but it seems like this stupid broken check valve lets the lines keep a siphon for way longer than they should. I've seen both of them half way out of water and the pipe is still sucking enough water to keep the siphon. The water has to drop almost to the bottom of the loc line outputs to break the siphon. I could keep the lines higher, but I'm running a mag 18 and the flow is too strong to keep them too high without splashing or misting the sides. I suppose I could solve that issue by throttling back the mag since it is also attached to a gate valve. On top of all that there is all the water in the overflow section. I think is honestly what gets me the most. Once the power goes on, the DT itself fills up and starts overflowing pretty soon. But the overflow takes a good couple of minutes to get filled back up. In the meantime, all that water is still in the sump causing the skimmer to overflow.

Matty is right. Just like removing an inflammatory post about anything else, the moderation is never done to protect the reputation of the poster. Quite the contrary the moderation is typically done to protect the reputation of the target, in this case GB. Moderation is a tool to use to prevent unnecessarily negative or derogative posts.
