  1. It's not looking good for one of the little guys. (The one I bought last) I have caught them again, it's not hard to do. I placed them in a sealable container floating in my DT with the lid off. I really don't think there is anything wrong with the first bought fish. I think that ones just hanging out with the sick one for some sort of Comfort. This one don't labor to keep upright and moving or breathing hard like the other but just won't eat. I'm not going to release them back into the main DT. I'm just going to keep them floating and changing out there water with DT water. I'm poring out there old water in the sink. I then top them back off with DT water and add fresh mix to the DT. All three of the clownfish have been the inexpensive $15. tank bread fish. These are the only tank raised fish I have ever owned and have not been having very good luck. The last clownfish I had were true wild caught. I had them for 11 years before I was stupid and sold them then got out of the hobby.
  2. I bought two peppermint shrimp in hopes they would eradicate a few aiptasia anemone. And it worked! I got them on Saturday and by today all the aiptasia is gone. I walked out of my room on my way to work this morning, to see a shrimp yanking one out of the rock work as fast as he could and stuffing his mouth. I CAN'T FIND A SINGLE SURVIVER!!!!!
  3. Just posting up to say thanks again for all the frags you gave me to start out. You sir are a very generous person. He loaded me down with 8 nice frags and some food samples. Dave
  4. I also took them out of the tank and looked them over real close. I don't see any parasites like ich. They are not the nicest quality clowns either. When I really look at them close up they are kinda deformed and scared up.
  5. I feed frozen Hikari Spirulina Brine Shrimp mix with Hikari mysis along with new life and garlic. I mix them all in a small container and feed with a turkey baser. The first clown use to just gobble it up until the second clown showed up. Now they both just watch it float by there faces while the other 3 eat like crazy. I would have figured they would be dead by now. This is the second week of this. No one in my area sells live brine. I tested my water and everything looks right. It just don't make sense. Everything was fine until I added that second clownfish.

    Percula clowns

So when my tank was ready my first two fish to put in were two clowns. And of course one of them kicked the bucket in one week. The one that I had left was eating fine and everything was great. Over a months time I got a really small scopes tang, yellow and green wrasses (green one I gave away) a honey chromis (also gave him away) and a fire fish. With all those fish everything was fine. So since I got rid of two fish I decided to get another clown. So I got one that was a bit smaller like the one that died. When I first put him in he would try to swim with the first then get ran off by the big one. He would eat but not much. Well now they both swim together and hide in the corner, also now either will eat at all. not that I have seen anyway. Are they doing there changing thing? Or did the 2nd one give the 1st one something? They are both really little guys The other 3 fish in the tank are doing great!
  7. I just don't understand how a bug poison wouldn't harm the coral but kill everything else? They are such delicate sea creatures that are dying by the day in the sea where they're from. But we can dip them a concentrated insect killer no problem? I just don't get it.
  8. Bimart has it $16.98 for the large bottle and they had plenty on the shelf. I know it's a bit to much, but I was there and Lowe's or Home Depot is a 20+ miles for me to drive. Would this have worked on Asterina stars?
  9. Was driving buy the Gresham Petco and seen they had the $1. Per gallon sale going if anyone's interested. I may go buy a 40B just to have.
  10. I thought someone posted one as a loaner?
  11. I like the way I was censored for describing the way I cut the glass. Hahahaha! The sump is a Eshopps RS-75 and it has a factory installed bubble trap.
  12. Wrasse pending to momo3419 The Honey badger I mean Chromis still up for grabs! I
  13. Got your pm and he's all yours. But, I see by your profile your only 15. I would like it if a parent or adult family member drive you over to get him though. Dave
  14. fishboys has offered to set me up with a frag and don't want the wrasse. So I am paying it forward and the wrasse is also free for the taking. I work M-F and don't get home until 5pm. Also I'm in Sandy Oregon.
  15. Small Juvenal Honey Chromis About an inch long. Free! pastel-green wrasse, Halichoeres chloropterus I would like $20.00 for him or maybe trade for beginners coral frag of some sort. I have already caught them out of my display tank and put them in my refugium. So they will be easy to catch again.
  16. It was so ironic that I had a good amount of carbon on hand that night. I ran that for a week crammed in my first sump baffle and didn't loose a single fish, coral or clean up crew to soap. But, 1/2 dozen or so bristle worms just crawled out on the sand bed and just lay there until I vacuumed them away. Funny though they were still alive. Yes I bought 1 new koralia 1150 and my second return pump for now. How I would love some Ecotech marines, I just can't justify them right now.

  18. You can have this. It is a Evil Damsel killer. Also known as the Honey Chromis. Don't let the name fool you at all like it did me. He has the same personality as his 4 legged cousin the Honey badger. He didn't like my Azure Damsel and killed him within hours of placing him in my tank.
  19. Clay? Here is a link. https://joejaworski.wordpress.com/2009/12/10/making-seawater-this-is-a-no-brainer-right/ I have read about clay being used as a anti-caking on other sites also.
  20. To tell you the honest truth I didn't do well as a kid in school. It took me a few times of reading the instructions for me to catch on to how it works. But now it's not a problem. Just set your on times and intensity levels of each channel and push go. What's nice is there is one power cord for all three channels. You can set blue, white and moon to any intensity level and at any time you want. So if you want more blue set it to 60 80 or whatever and white to 40 50 or whatever or the other way around. Sorry for any bad grammar and spelling. I'm really bad about that even worse when chicken pecking on my iPhone.
  21. Also if you a willing to drive to my place in Sandy Oregon you can check it out in person. Mess with the programming and see what it can do set at 100%. It's crazy bright!
  22. I have the Reefcorner CR180p and love it! My tank is 21" deep and it has no problem lighting every square inch only set at 60/40 max. I May even turn it down it bit more. Believe me It would have no problem lighting a 24" deep tank at all.
  23. Thanks again for the offer fishboys.
