  1. $175.00 ? I don't want to deal with EBay. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  2. Someone asked if it came with the pump. Yes it is in it's original packaging right upper corner of the second picture.
  3. Just like new, I bought it new from Cuttlefish 5 months ago. Works great! Set it and forget it. I have all the box packing and paperwork that came with it. Even knowing it's a space saver it's a bit to big for my Eshopps RS-75 sump when using the filter sock that I was not using when I bought it. $200.00
  4. I wish I could score a pair of them at the goodwill!
  5. Scored this. And this. From the Goodwill. The UPS has a build date of 10/2013. I tested the battery and it's good for now. My plans are using it as a DIY project and hooking it to a way larger battery, Also a solar panel. The other is a exo terra 18" duel mogul socket light fixture. I put 5k CFL bulbs in it and placed it above my refugium. It fits perfect and looks way better then the craftsman drop light. The drop light was replacing my last DIY led lighting option that failed miserably.

    Heaters

I have close to 100 gallons to heat so I was going to get two of the 200w models. After more research I see that they are the newest model they have and seem to be the only one that's having the cracking/blowing up problem.

    Heaters

Thanks for the heads up about the Cobalt heater, I was just about to buy one. I reworded my search to find quite a few problems. I can't believe how many different results you get just by moving some words around when searching google or bing.

    Heaters

Since I don't own and probably won't ever own an apex, I'm thinking of a Cobalt heater/controller.
  9. Yes back to the original building just around the corner from his house on Rodney St.
  10. I was also going to ask about the wattage that extension cord was supplying? It's not a grounded cord so it can't be much.
  11. I don't know if it's appropriate for me to post this because Woody's not a paying vendor. If that's the case just delete this post. But anyway I stopped by his place today to find a clean stocked shop. It looks almost like it did back in the early 90's when I got into this hobby. But, Woody's not running it quite yet. His son in law (I'm sorry I forgot his name) has cleaned up the old shop and filled tanks. He told me that he's still learning the trade has only been at this for about 4 months. He's a very nice guy and would be worth the time to stop by to check them out. He told me Woody gets better by the day and it shouldn't be long until he back out in the shop. But until then he was thinking of installing a Skype system so Woody could help customers with technical questions. They have all the normal old school corals of yesteryear so if all your into is designer stuff you won't find it yet. Dave
  12. I've never used dielectric grease on AC connections before wonder if it would help? I use that stuff on every fuse, plug or crimp connector at work but it's DC stuff on heavy equipment.
  13. I have reused sand a few times with no problem. I drained off all the clear water I could before moving the tank to place fish and corals in and saved 10 gallons for cleaning rock and sand. Rinsed out the sand real good in its own tank water at the new place. Scooped it from the bucket with one of those wire kitchen strainer scoop things. Put the sand rock and new water back in the new tank and let it set over night to settle. Now your really going to call me nuts, I don't reuse glass aquariums. Back when I was a renter every time I moved I bought a brand new tank. Granted they were usually AGA 55's so the were cheep.
  14. Back in the day maybe 20 years ago? I had a 6 outlet power strip catch on fire. Full blown fire! The curtains were completely on fire all the way to the ceiling. I was in bed at 3am when it happen. My wife awoke me to ask what's that crackle noise? I knew that noise right away. She called 911 while I ran in to attempt to put it out. I ripped the glass tops and lights off the tank and used the water in the tank and a pot to put the fire out. Long story short. I no long put power strips inside stands or behind.
  15. I hard plumbed my drain all the way. The return I used a 6" piece of silicone hose then to pvc.
  16. My tank came with Durso plumbing and I hated it! Never tried the gurgle buster tough. Cut it all out and replaced it with the herbie method, Its almost dead silent now. Just need to do something about my skimmer.
  17. Depends on the size of the battery and how many you have. I use one size 8D in my motorhome with a small 1000w inverter. I can run anything other then the microwave and a/c for weeks. Now that I have solar panels I can camp pretty much indefinitely.
  18. Old temporary durso plumbing. The tank would drain 100% of its water into the refugium, then into the sump. Returning via twin Quite one 1200's, this made for a bunch of unwanted noise. Also I couldn't use my filter sock so the sump would fill with crud quick. New plumbing feeds right to the sump herbie method. so now I can use my filter sock. Only draw back is I now have to feed my refugium with a separate pump from the sump water. Which has now already been skimmed. Don't pay attention to that 3/8ths hose feeding the refugium, it's only temporary. This weekend it's going to be replaced with one of the Quite one 1200's with a 1/2" over the rim return elbow. Drains and returns. New plumbing Refugium with a Craftsman 2700k CFL drop light over it. Also cut a new glass top from an old 40b. I tried two different acrylic covers but both bowed real bad. Needless to say space is a premium under my tank. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  19. I have changed all my plumbing to herbie, added some real nice corals and a few fish since my build thread started. I'll snap some pics and update my thread tonight.
  20. I don't own an AR either but I do own a AK-22. I don't hunt so I have no need for anything larger then a .22 well, other then my CCW. When I started showing my son the basics of owning firearms I started collecting.22 rifles in every configuration other then full auto and pump action so far. This way I can teach him the proper operation of simi, lever and bolt rifles. .22 pump is last on our list and maybe replace our Ithaca with a Golden boy.
  21. I think this has gone quite well even with me stoking the fire now and then. I belong to another forum that this would have gone to hell in a hand basket from hour one. Also lex would have been flamed off the forum.
  22. Just seen that there was a mass knife attack killing 29 and injuring 130, In China. We better issue them some fine chrome plated plastic cutlery. My boss just returned after spending two weeks in China. He showed me some real whacko pictures he took. He also said it don't matter how much our company pays him he won't ever go back.
