  1. Hey, I'm just happy there is parking. I remember parking seven blocks away at the Mississippi shop =]
  2. I found a bubble algae "bubble" on a frag the other day. Not a big deal right, so I went to Cuttlefish and picked up an emerald crab just for future control. As I was putting little emerald in I saw the live rock I used to cycle the tank from a different angle. Dozens of bubbles @#&!. I really do like that little coraline covered rock but it sits in a bath of hydrogen peroxide 😥. Better to nuke it now and let it come back. On a happier note I did score some nice frags from Jeff. I have a problem lol First is a nice little Duncan coral. Should do well in the low flow area on my back wall And since the siriatopora is thriving I grabbed a stick of purple stylophora I need to be more careful gluing SPS down. I left a thumb print from holding too tightly. Whoops
  3. Not to change the subject, but I can't find Golden basket on Ebay anymore. Have they moved?
  4. Finally picked up more test kitsch NO3 0 PO4. 0.04 Ca. 450 Mg 1540 KH. 7.6 My system seems awfully new to have such low nutrients... Not sure if its s problem. Mag is a little high but I'm pretty happy with the results
  5. I had all my pumps off for a water change and just happened to look down.
  6. I can't open your photo on my phone, but algae or bacteria will last as long as there is adequate food for them. Check nutrients and possible silica sources. A fine filter sock can help a as well if you have a sump. Hold in there, it shall pass.
  7. My old bristletooth tank was an absolute ham. He/she would see me coming and do backflips to get my attention and dance around the tank. I really miss that fish
  8. Sweet freshwater tank, sad to see it come down. I have a few chunks of dry rock left over from my build. I live in Milwaukie and work in Molalla
  9. Sorry to hear about your water troubles. I hope simple water changes go the trick for you.
  10. Thanks, I'll leave it up high and keep an eye on it
  11. Bonus update I fed the Blastomusso Wellsi tonight and look what it revealed as it fed We have babies
  12. Stopped by Cuttlefish and corals to buy some water and ended up with a few new pieces. I am noticing a trend here =] First up is a coral that has been on my wish list forever. A sweet Dragon Soul Favia. This guy not only has awesome coloration but has an interesting growth pattern. I also scored a very unique Leptoseris. I have thought of these as orange or gold but this one has a blue and purple base with bright green highlights. Bonus is Jeff grew out this coral himself. I actually have a question about the Leptoseris. I am reading they live low light, even shadow. But I saw this pretty high in the tank. Plus it is an SPS. Thanks for listening to me ramble
  13. Can't wait, this should be a fun day =]
  14. Why would you choose to does over just getting another fish to add to your bioload?
  15. I am definitely much pickier now that I have a "nano" tank. I have a list for fish for sure. But on coral I find myself thinking. Yes I like it but does it really deserve that space lol

    SPS Issues

I am not a SPS guy but... If your looking to remove nitrates and or possible contaminates one large water change would be more effective than a few smaller ones. Assuming your new water has similar parameters to your tank water
  17. Well I have had my Seriatopora for a week and not only alive but seems to be thriving I know its an easy mode SPS but the fact it's doing well really impresses me lol
  18. I had a bristletooth tang who did that. He wanted to play with anything white or shiny ie frag plugs. I ended up throwing a fishing bobber in there and he went nuts, but left my frags alone. I miss my fangs =]
  19. That's a good looking scolly!
  20. That acan... , plus gotta get the CCR's Glad I'm going to make this one!
  21. Off to a great start! What kind of livestock are you going to be keeping?
