This kinda sounds like brown jelly disease stuff. I had a nice size Acan with about 30 or 40 mouths, start with one mouth gone over night. I then worked its way down in a line to the edge and then started to work its way around. After I tried to stop it with a Iodine dip with no success, I tried to frag it by cutting the bad side off. It then start again as I don't think I cut it all off and after another fragging try I ended up losing the whole thing. I say Brown jelly as after the flesh died it looked looked like brown jelly or slime. But from what you have described is the same thing that happened to my Acan.

Seems to me if your tank isn't to large, it would be easy to just slowly change your water out with a good salt mix. Start with about 10 or 20% every 4 days till you get where you want. This way your have the water balance that it should have without you getting other things out a wack.

I too had this same thing about 6 months ago and was trying to blame it on my huge leathers. Then I was it was TDS build up in my water as I had my RO filters messed up. Then I thought it was my Ca. reactor dumping to much CO2 and dropping my PH, but I could never catch it down past 7.9. After losing most sps's and Monti caps, I did mass water changes and started back over and never really found the problem. Some times I really hate this hobby after going through that stuff.

O and will the TV be tuned into the Hawks game at 1:00? You know this is your punisment for bad mouthing them.

I would say the first ones look like Pink Cat eye pallys. All pink with green mouths. I have lots and making sure everyone else has them a well.

I heard one theory was that the spooked flock of birds where struck by lighting. Not sure what happen to the fish though.

On most forced air furnace in new homes, have to have a timmer on them that turns the fan on and off every few hours. This allso should pull fresh air in from outside so as we doin't kill our selfs from lack of good air. The timer should be on the side of the furnace.

Thats nice to have found him in time. We just got my little Neon gobby out of the over flow box. He was in there for about 4 months before I found a way to get him. He looked just as good as when he went in there though.

If the coral went through some hard times, I would think that the worms have moved into the dead spots to hide or to clean up stuff. If the coral is growing again then the worms will not bother it much. You can feed the coral if the bubbles are out of if it has the feeder tentacles out. Just shoot a small amount of food through a tube between the bubbles or close to the mouth. If a bubble comes lose from the skeleton just keep it in a place so it can't blow around. It can start a new frag if it is keep from moving around.

Them scallops are one of the funnest things to look at. There just hard to keep from hiding or living for a long period of time. I sure would bat a eye at getting one again now that I know more.

Is something slowing the flow of the water through the skimmer? Is the wheel still turning? You had it working it sounds like and then something changed.

But I did say small. Yes it would have to be removed real soon. That is if you can even find one that small. The smallest one I could find for my 125 was 3". But a crab might be a better way to go.

I would say your best bett is to find the smallest Naso you can and drop in there. I had a Brown waffer problem and got the Naso and it was gone in a month.

Good luck finding some one. I buffed the front of my little frag tank out and it was only 12" by 36". Took one night and hope I never have to do that again. O and I just used good old car buffing compound and polish.
