  1. ok so i recently picked up a 8x39 watt 36" teklight. the bulbs have about a year on them and im trying to figure out which bulbs and what k and such when i replace them.ive been looking everywhere online and frankly the information is way to overwhelming.my biggest thing is coral growth i want the most growth possible. color is nice to, but growth is important to me. im guessing guismen is gonna be the way to go as far as a brand, but ive heard such things as not running actinics and stuff. what are opinions. i want to try to nail a good growth and color combo on the dot so i dont have to buy more bulbs till i get it right.
  2. yeah i feel yaon some of these. i have no idea where the econmy is headed right now but it dosent look good.
  3. im bored and i am in chat feel free to join me(whistle)
  4. i have a 40 breeder its an awsome tank and looks much bigger than it is because of the dimensions
  5. they are extremely green and after the lights are on for like 5 hours they start to turn redish brown. but for a good 4 hours when you turn on the lights there green heres pics of them after about 4 hours of light. they are super dark flurecent green under actinics.i want to trade 1 or 2 of them for? what do you have. im just looking for something i dont have let me know what you got
  6. somehow i acidently got 4 pics enterd i didnt think i and j got enterd. sorry
  7. the teklight is amazing i love it so much i cant even describe how much of a change it is from power compacts. the leather has never stretched up and out like that. some of those zoanthids have only had like 4-6 polyps open at a time forever and now all the zoanthids are all open. everything looks and is doing better and the light hasnt even been on a full day(clap) look at the tidalzone aqua zoanthid pic in the first post then the one in this one thats since the lights been on its never been much more open than that first pic till now. oh and i moved a bunch of stuff to take pics that is why random stuff is in the sand and close together
  8. the arch piece is my favirote it was like 40 somethin bucks but its one of those pices you wont see anything like and i had to have. i like the aquascape so far. it was origonaly all like tose huge pices of lava rock. i collected it from bend and cleaned it up real good theres only a few pieces left ive slowly been taking it out and adding live rock. but what is left of the bend rock now has some good coraline growth on it;).i barrowed a camera a little better than mine. and got way better pics. and i just put on the 8 bulb t5 like 10 mins ago. so ill try and post pics tonight.(clap)
  9. pics? if you sell of the livestock let me know i might want corals
  10. looks like ill be waiting for next month to enter i dont think this shrimp can be beat. amazing photo, i love it
  11. i bought this fixture 4 months ago for like 350 shipped.its 2x96 watt and moonlights.it has a dual actinic bulb and a dual daylight bulb thats 6700k and 10000k.light output is great color is nice i have it on my 40 breeder and i like it.i have a bunch of corals and the only ones ive found so far that the light barely cuts it for are hard corals. i have some but they have to be more twords the top of the tank. evrything else is doing amazing my mushrooms and candycanes have split so manytimes. anyways ive decided to go another route with my tank revamp so this is up for grabs id say that the bulbs have another 8 months left in them depends who you talk to. i also have a link on where to buy replacement bulbs cheap.you can turn on just the actincs or just the daylights or just the moonlights. or whatver combo you want. and it does have cooling fan.i have legs for it and acidently orderd an extra set of legs aswell. so pretty much the first reasonible offer takes it. reasonible. heres a link its 36" http://www.netshops.com/cart/shopper.cfm?action=view&key=AAT087&tid=AAT087&source=channel_intelligence_gbase&ci_src=14110944&ci_sku=AAT087
  12. looks like you have the same light
  13. ok so first off i had to get rid of my uber nice camera so these are all with my 5 mega pixil point and shoot(sad). but i figured since ive been lingering around so long i should finally post a few pics before i do my big overhaul. i thought ive had this tank going for a while but after checking records its only been up for 4 months. so theres the lack of coralline and good stuff.sorry for long loading.(whistle)unfortunately i couldn't get pics of alot of things due t the camera sucking. this one i got as live rock. it was like 30 cents. what is it? the bubble coral i got as live rock it was like 75 cents both these were bought as live rock. tee hee hee. and i got a nice sized piece of tonga a live rock with about 10-15 zoas on it and theve split quite a bit(laugh)

  19. we bought ours starving skinny as could be. they do well in huge reefs with lots of live bugs and stuff. there not supposed to but we turn off our tank for about 30 mins at feeding time and she eats frozen food with the rest. and plumped right up. suprisingly she picks on the scooter blenny. a lot. mean little devil.hope it does well
