  1. Hey Joel - nice work! This is actually a great idea and very helpful...
  2. Thanks Roy! Sound like a good find, I will have to keep an eye open for that.
  3. Hey now! Keep your hands off our eastside guys Mark Bob and Dave do rock though (rock2)
  4. No doubt Shawn! (laugh)(laugh)
  5. Dude... you were intimidating enough without the gun! (laugh)
  6. Congrats Curtis! Hope that works out well for you... and I never have to drop your name when getting hauled in by the Utah cops
  7. Hey Curtis - great selection of fish... I love all of those! I just got my first trigger a couple weeks ago (blue jaw) and am surprised by how great a reef citizen he is. Completely mellow and doesn't mess with anything in the tank. Hopefully yours all turn out to be equally reef friendly!
  8. I hear ya Shane - I loved to play fetch with Pickle as well! Way too cute. For some reason, my cats can't seem to figure out the whole fetch thing
  9. Wow! That looks awesome Isaac - I love the color scheme (even with some funky photo effects ).
  10. Hey Curtis - that is looking really sharp! I like the salt bucket baffles... that was a great idea and actually looks pretty clean (too bad they don't make them in black ;-) though). The rockwork is also really starting to take shape - the overall plan was great from the start but now it looks like you have some more varied pieces to make it work. I have the baby brother version of that skimmer and have been impressed as well... pretty low maintenance to boot. Great job curtis - can't wait to see it filled with coral!!
  11. Awesome information Kevin - thanks! I will definitely hit you up when we get to the point of actually being able to set something up. Sorry for the thread hijack! On the original topic... I have seem some really cool pipe fish showing up in some of the LFS lately so that might be worth thinking about as a (slightly) new direction. They also seem to have their own special set of behaviors like the seahorses so could make for an interesting species tank.
  12. Very nice Daniel! Maybe I should just let you keep all the SPS I buy then I can come visit them once in a while to admire their growth (clap)
  13. Hey Pledo, thanks for all the great seahorse info! It is really nice to hear from someone with firsthand experience in this area as my wife has long wanted to get some but I have been holding off for reasons of $$ and, more importantly, trusted info! Just curious, you mentioned lots of flow but evenly distributed... can you give some idea on how you are setup with # of turnovers etc.? Thanks again!
  14. My wife's version is "Reef Geeks"... which kind of has a nice ring to it
  15. Congrats Curtis - glad you finally got hooked up with a controler! Andy, Pledo, Krux etc., I greatly enjoyed your discussion of IP/copyright infringment! Perhaps we could do a live debate one of these days at a conveniently located brew pub
  16. Just let me know and I would be happy to help out any way I can - sometimes a spare set of hands can come in handy... especially with coral the size of yours!

    Montipora setosa

Hey Miles - I have a piece of that orenji as well and it's growth pattern is very similar to yours. Perhaps a few more nodules but pretty darn similar. It seems like it is a little more intense orange but that could just be the light and/or pic. Very cool coral as you mentioned! Daniel - you scored on that piece from Bob there buddy! Nice (clap)
  18. Thanks for the heads up Shane. I do think the Hollywood and Barbour stores are staying open but all the others are closing so definitely some deals to be had!
  19. Sweet! I have been waiting to see a pic of that Stang (drooler) Eric - I have long been a fan of that particular M although I always wanted the droptop version of course! Someone who parks in my lot at work has one of the new ones in bright yellow... kinda hard to miss.
  20. That reminds me Eric, I have some really nice green ones I could trade you for some zoas
  21. I had FW tanks ever since I was in grade school (I don't want to think about how many years that is!) and then switched over to salt water in about 91 with a fish only tank. I got hooked on reef tanks slowly as I became more aware of (and addicted to) the variety of life in these systems. Fortunately, my wife shares the same enthusiasm for reef critters! I actually had wanted to become a marine biologist out of college but didn't have all the prereqs for the only good grad program in that area - my reef tank is sort of making up for that (laugh)
