  1. Uh-oh...(J) reminds me of the time Bob (Lowman) got in trouble for posting the pic of his torn down 120 which ended up winning! Bummer about the broken tank though (sad)
  2. You have some really nice corals there Daniel! I love that blue sponge and the zoas... I am a sucker for blue (drooler)
  3. Glad this thread gave you some clarity Miles! Sounds like you have a good plan in place to get your dream tank... keep us posted so we can continue to be green with envy
  4. No doubt! And I forgot to mention that, before it malfunctioned, one of the cats chewed holes in the feed line which then leaked on the hardwood floor and warped some boards. And that was right after my Scot's Fairy wrasse went missing... A highlight reel weekend to be sure! Next time you have a bad one Miles I will have to remember to brace myself for the onslaught.
  5. Thanks Miles. I am keeping my fingers crossed. Of course, I had my ATO go haywire and dump in a bunch of RO water in the sump yesterday as well! Not my day to be sure DOH!
  6. Thanks for the offers Rick and Doran. Miles, I just discovered some tissue necrosis on one of my larger (and nicer (sad)) pieces of acro this morning so I think I better hold off on adding anything until I figure that out. It looks a lot like what Steve was describing in his tank (white band disease?). Argh! I'm starting to feel a little jinxed with the SPS right now.
  7. Wow! Frank and Jody - great pics of some beautiful montis!!! I'm not sure what they all are but they are sweet (drooler)
  8. That is a stunning tank! Beautiful job with your choices of coral, fish and arrangements. Man, I wish mine looked even close to that.... Great job!
  9. Hey Miles... who is getting the other acro frag? I was actually interested in that guy.
  10. That is awesome Mark! I wonder if it came from Perry's... he had an amazing collection when I was there last weekend including some crazy pink ones like that. They really stand out! Nice score (rock2)
  11. I get around 19-20 in town (no hwy) and 29-34 on the hwy depending on conditions. It's not supposed to be that good but since I put in new O2 sensors and did the APR upgrade it has been great!
  12. Nice tank Jon! So... do you think the issue with the rimless acrylic is the bowing? That would makes some sense but would think the thickness would alleviate most of that.
  13. Nice! I really like the Speed3s but was bummed that they didn't use the AWD system they had on the Speed6 - I almost got one of those but ended up with the S4 Avant (used) instead. The pearl white is sweet!
  14. Here's an idea Miles... have one of each made then give me the one you decide not to keep (clap) Seriously though, these both sound like nice options and I would have a hard time deciding as well. I guess knowing James wouldn't be comfortable guaranteeing the rimless acrylic tank would make me a little nervous with that choice so maybe the starfire is the way to go in this case - then you would also get the benefit of being able to use the Vortechs. It's interesting though as I am not sure whether the rimless glass would really be any less likely to fail than the rimless acrylic... might be interesting to hear the reasoning there. I think the scratch resistance and ease of cleaning would be a benefit of the Starfire but you would pay a weight penalty for sure. Good luck deciding!
  15. finch and steelhead - verrrry nice! I love that fastback '67! (drooler)
  16. Ok... admit it Andy, you are actually trying to be boring!
  17. Yes indeed it was! Pretty nicely balanced car even though the technology seems really archaic by todays standars. The RX7s felt very similar but with a much more refined drive train... I miss rear wheel drive!
  18. Wow! Frank and Jody those are some beauties!!!
  19. Sweet! I had a '74 TR6 for many years - stock with factory detachable hard top. Current cars - Audi S4 Avant 6speed w/APR CPU upgrade and minor suspension mods. '95 Saab Aero stock and '88 Subaru GL10 AWD Turbo wagon - the ultimate Subie in my book! Other previous rides - '71 Opel GT, '88 RX7 GLX and '88 RX7 vert (love the rotary!). Gotta get some pics one of these days (scratch)
  20. Looks like fun Curtis! Must be nice to pick up "ocean" sand and rock while staying completely dry! That does look like it will be some nice looking material for your aquascaping - can't wait so see that!
  21. I have seen it at Saltwater FantaSeas several times as well - got mine there.
  22. Looking nice Andy! That new War Coral is really sharp. BTW - is that a sunburst anthias in there? I love those fish but have never had one...
