  1. Well if one would post pictures once in awhile... Can't wait to see it. What are the dimensions on the sump? The one I have under my 90g doesn't give me much leeway on top off.
  2. Could I get one from ya? Mine RTN'd. I had a gorg grow into it and the whole colony is gone.
  3. I had that same fixture on my old tank. That is a great light.
  4. Thank you! Been growing some of those corals for over 10 years now.
  5. Thank you! Maybe next time I can go longer! I got to two years on my last setup, maybe my next run will be a bit longer. Her'e hopin.
  6. You can do it on your reef if I can. I am nothing special. It does take planning and a different type of work, but for me it was essential if I wanted to stay in the hobby. It is actually much easier in practice then I thought it would be. I am sure anyone who wanted to could do it.
  7. Maybe we could carpool. I've been meaning to get back to a meeting again.
  8. Forgot the pic [emoji2] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I figured since I always post I never do water changes, and rep the no water change club, I needed to also post I'm about to do one. I don't wanna be that guy that says one thing then does another. It was a good little run for me, about 20 months with no water changes, no coral loss, and the only fish loss from a power outage... :( So after not doing a water change since November of 14, I have an unexplained rtn and thought now is as good a time as any to do a 40g water change a day for the next 3 days. Kind of a reset button if you will. Might even change the filters on the RODI unit too I need to do a ton of SPS trimming, some RBTA thinning out (1 turned to 4), making choices on what colonies to keep and which ones to ditch (some things do not get fragged), sailfin is has rocked qt so time to add a new homie, etc etc so good a time as any for a water change. I will remove all the equipment and clean it, remove the hoses and soak them, vacuum out the sump, etc etc. Might even change the light bulbs (cough cough Chris cough cough) So.... remind me, it's been awhile. You put the water in the bin, then the salt, then put it in the tank right? It's just been so long... I remember a lot of towels for some reason... I have a new reefer on the way coming early October, so hopefully this little overhaul gets me through the newborn to tossing crap in the tank phase I do want to be transparent while I say no water changes since 11/14 I have done several large cutting sessions and had to replace water that was taken out with fragging, but if memory serves the last actual water change not involved with fragging was 11/14.
  10. Welcome to the PNWMAS. I think I remember you from a different site? I'm Kevin from Seahorse.org, Pledosophy most other places . I was in Anaheim for a long time and active in the clubs there, but have been up here for the last 10 years or so. I kept/bred seahorses for 13-14 years. Fun animals. Are you going to setup for seahorses or go reef in the 60? Either way hit me up when you get going. I have a few frags and some extra equipment to help ya out if need be. Posting pictures works best if you link from external sites. Welcome to Portland.
  11. When you get goin hit me up if you want some frags.
  12. So Thankful for the Tang! He is out ad about. Ate twice already. I am not getting any work done I keep watching him. My wife came in and said, "Oh WOW!". He is absolutely beautiful. We'll give him a great home. Thank you.
  13. I have one Basically a dorm fridge with a 3/4" pvc pipe running through it. Perastalic pump with a wide opening to pump the food into the pvc pipe. I got mine from Stu. A lot of the NPS and cold water folks use them.
  14. Dope, you the guy right next store to Randall right? I live like 3 minutes from you. Let me know when your ready to chase the fish! (714)757-3943
  15. I can't believe that CA Reactor is still up. I have a CA Reactor and want to buy that thing. That is a steal of a deal. The tank is like $100 buy itself.
  16. I'd love the Sailfin, got a good home for him in another 120
  17. Whatta ya mean you took the tank down? I think there was a forum glitch. A marine aquariumist simply does not take ones tank down. The tank of a Marine Aquariumist does not come down, it may grow in size, but never... come down.
  18. All LPS and Softies or any sticks? If my levels were that low I would dose small amounts every couple of hours and try to bring the alk up .5-1 every 1-2 hours until hitting 8. I would not try and dump it all in at once, but gradually over the course of a day you should be able to get back to 8, and then proceed accordingly from there. Yes increasing alk that much over a day is not the best thing, but weighing it against where your alk is now, I think it is the better of the options of having the corals sit their for days. I have had to go from 4 to 9 in my Mixed Reef when I had a pump malfunction and did not notice for 2 days (yes, my Alk dropped 5.0 in 2 days). In my case everything was fine. The healthier the corals the more forgiving they are of stuff like this, but, not for very long IME. HTH
  19. I use a product called Plumbers Grease on the basket when installing bulkheads. I would highly recommend it. The product is inert and stands up to salt water to keep the gasket lubricated. I took down a tank after 5 years and the gaskets still felt slippery with the grease. It's about $3 for a little thing of it at Home Depot. usually takes 4-5 people there to find it.
  20. $300 for the 512 SSD drive included? I'd be down. I can do part cash part corals, and eheim submersible too. I have a chiller that has been chilling on a shelf in the garage for a few years (sorry had to with the pun). I am sure we could work something out. I'd like to know the Ram, generation of the i7 chip, amount of USB 3 ports, and graphics card before I commit. I am not on here to much anymore. I will PM you my email address.
