I had the same problem the end of last year/beginning of this year. Berghia failed me, despite using them multiple times in previous outbreaks. I attribute that to my heavy addition of Amphipods, which turns out eats their eggs/offspring. I ended up with Three filefish and a CopperBanded butterfly, that wouldn't touch them either. Punch line, they were going for the easier food I was providing every night for the rest of the fish. I suspect my technique would work with any aptasia predator. No feeding, until the aptasia are gone. My thread is below. On a side note, Its really cool to still have three filefish. Fun to find and see them blending into what ever is around them. An under appreciated fish.

My goto heaters have been; Eheim JAGER Aquarium Heater. BRS is not the cheapest place to get them. I just checked, BRS has 100W for $27, amazon has it for $20.

Glad to hear things are settled in! One pile gone, one ~pile remaining. They're growing on a few things (tank bottom, walls, frag rack) - so there may be a bit of easy scraping getting them off for someone. But there's still a bunch to go.

Pending.

Has anyone DIYd a large lagoon with a pond liner?
obrien.david.j replied to islandVib3s's topic in General Discussion
I think it's a great idea. For lighting, you could hang 400W MH lights from the ceiling. I'm sure there's a bunch of those around used and reasonably priced. Are you thinking something like 4'x12'? Could setup the flow in the long direction of the lagoon, even slow flow. Oh, this would make a great Banggai grow out setup! -
Big piles, 4-ish inches around. (I think of them as big piles)

bump. $30/pile?

Look what I found in my filter sock tonight... Baby Banggai! He made it out of dad's mouth, through water column of 250 gallon display tank, to coast to coast overflow, through overflow pipe, and eventually into the filter sock. Luckily I'd seen a black basket a few years ago and thought, That will be handy some day. Today's the day. Last picture, you can see little guy in upper left corner. Filter Socket Cleanout Surprise! Basket setup in calm frag tank Upper Left Corner-ish of picture. Little one in his new home.

Does anybody still do cabinetry for aquariums these days?
obrien.david.j replied to BaghdadBean's topic in General Discussion
When I did mine two years ago, I couldn't find anyone with past skills in tank cabinet making. So I sketched up what I wanted, with specific measurements, and started bringing in cabinet makers. First one, was clueless. Wanted to silicon glue braces to the top of the tank and all kinds of crazy crap. Clearly just couldn't wrap his head around a wrap. (pun intended). Second one understood the concept, and filled in the blanks on how to skin a steel stand - without drilling into it. (I hadn't figured that out). Here's the basic progression -
@Brittany - do you still grow huge amounts of this, and planning to come to the Oct club meeting? If not, I'll share some of what you gave me with @islandVib3s
-
Depending on what you're looking for, I've got some red broad leave algae that @Brittany gave me at the last club meeting.

WTS: Tunze CO2 Regulator and Carbon Doser *NEW*

Sold. -
I think it's the Tigers Blood frag I got from @CuttleFishandCoral last December. I've fought hard for the last year+. Dinos and Aptasia were the two biggies. I'm really liking the changes I've made. Right now, my nutrients are high - and that's the next thing to gently bring them back down.
-
Killer deal. Go for it!

I'm not ready to frag yet. Give it a while. needs to grow up more

bump. You're welcome to PM with questions too -
I've let this pile of zoas just grow and grow in my frag tank. They've split into two piles. $40/each pile, your choice. Same species, color difference is just camera weirdness. Pickup only, at my location. Cedar Mill, west side of town, North of 26, off Murray exit. To quote a recent post, "I don’t remember names. I never do" @Manny Tavan Pile 1: Pile 2:

@mapolski I've got a stack of muchrooms I'll sell cheap. And one, pseudo blue. I'm located in Cedar Mill (North of 26, off Murray exit) if you're will to travel here for them. PM me if interested. Type 1, call it what you like. Taken under white lights Single pseudo blue (?), taken under white light as well.

FYI, went to your site and didn't find a Oregon Tort listed. Don't know if it's a glitch or not. The one you sold me Nov'21 is doing great, so i'm good. But @JC7 is likely still looking for a hookup. This is mine today:
