  1. NO!!!!! Do not use "Then ON" because that will cause the DOS to run continuously for 24 hours on Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. It will overdose your tank. Use the EXACT wording from my programming above, where it turns OFF on those specified days. The graphical schedule will do the actual work of dosing 35ml each day, but the DOW command will block it from running on the specified days.
  2. Just configure the DOS schedule like I showed to dose 35 ml every day at any time you choose. Then the programming in the Advanced tab will override the daily schedule to turn it Off on the days specified by the DOW command. You do not need to add any Set OFF command or anything else in the Advanced tab. Just the DOW command to override the daily schedule define in the graphical DOS interval screen.
  3. OK, the simple thing to do is configure your DOS to deliver the 35 ml each day at a specified time: Then on the DOS schedule screen, click the gear at the top to go into the Advanced tab, and enter this command: If DOW S-T-T-S Then OFF This will force the DOS to skip Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
  4. Please answer the 2nd question I posed: Will your trip last longer than 7 days? This will impact the programming solution.
  5. Would it be OK to dose 17.5ml every 24 hours? If so, that would be extremely simple for the DOS setup. If you must dose only once every 48 hours, then it becomes challenging. Will your trip last longer than 7 days? If not, then you could use the If DOW command to skip every other day of the week, but of course there are 7 days in the week so the schedule will break the 48 hour rule after the first week. If it must run longer than 1 week, it will involve some complex virtual output programming. Please answer these two questions, then I can provide guidance.
  6. Have any of you seen the comet yet? I tried last night but there were low clouds on the horizon. Tonight the sky was very clear and I finally caught a glimpse of Comet NEOWISE after sunset. There shots were taken from the top of Cooper Mountain in Beaverton between 10:15pm - 11:00pm.
  7. Yes, I deep-cleaned my Radions before I sold them to you! A can of compressed air works great on those heat sinks and cooling fans.
  8. I've spent less on reefing than I have on vet bills for my dog. Don't get me started on the cost of surgery after he swallowed the end of a $4 Nylabone and it lodged in his small intestine. 😔
  9. I’m always a night owl... Here’s the exact specs of the Apex Aux 12v adapter: Here's a link to the official product at BRS: https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/12v-power-supply-neptune-systems.html
  10. Can you clarify? The Apex and the AFS are typically powered through an AquaBus cable plugged into any EnergyBar which supplies the needed 12v for each module. Are you instead talking about the optional 12v Auxiliary power adapter for the Apex? This is normally used in addition to the EnergyBar power to allow the Apex to detect a power failure when used in conjunction with a UPS backup battery. While the AFS has a power plug, it is simply a Neptune-branded device made by another company, and there is no Neptune documentation that mentions this power port or how to use it.
  11. I'm out. The photo I posted on June 30 showed a bit of algae growing on the top of my frag, and after returning home from the weekend holiday, I saw a lot of tissue loss. Today I found the frag completely dead. Something is going on with my tank, but I'm not sure yet what's wrong. I lost a lot of my WWC Yellow Tips last month, and now this frag. Parameters all look fine, including an ICP test I ran a couple weeks ago. I'm keeping a close eye on everything for any signs of new problems.
  12. Glad you found us here! Looking forward to seeing your build progress. Since you're already following my build thread on Reef2Reef, feel free to ask any questions about my XL 425 setup.
  13. Maybe you should try an Aiptasia bumper sticker. Somebody needs to come up with a line of reefing-related demotivational posters. 🤣
  14. I was out in my driveway today filling a couple of empty Red Sea salt buckets with water from the garden hose to water some of my trees in my yard when a pickup truck drove by and then stopped and backed up, and this random stranger yelled out, "what size reef tank do you have?". It turns out he lives just down the street from me and has been reefing for 20 years and has a Reefer XL 750. We exchanged email addresses and will likely trade frags and I might help him with some Apex issues. I love the reefing community. Small world! 🙂
  15. My wife & I rented a great VRBO house on the south jetty in Newport, just down the street from the Newport Aquarium. Beautiful weather, great views, and very relaxing. The house is decorated with all sorts of ocean related items, and I really like this clam lamp on the bedroom night stand: Happy 4th of July to all of you!
  16. The only new growth I see on my frag is unfortunately some algae. It just started a couple days ago, and I am having more algae elsewhere in my tank over the past several weeks. I probably need to work harder on lowering nutrients.
  17. @Gil&Fin Holly is prepared for ANY growout competition! #SharpieGate, PNWMAS Edition.
  18. I’ve been able to find RPM cans at New Seasons and the small fruit store on TV Hwy at SW 185th.
  19. I'm glad Boneyard finally released their RPM IPA in cans. 🍺
  20. If you think mine is sexy, take a look at what @obrien.david.j did with backlighting the same 75g containers:
  21. My 75 gallon Norwesco tanks are 23" diameter. I got them at Green Concepts in Gresham. They advertise on Craigslist: https://portland.craigslist.org/mlt/grd/d/emergency-waterfood-and-medical-supply/7136468975.html Congrats on the new tank!
  22. Do you think the high temps killed your bacteria so you'll need to cycle the tank again?
  23. I feed my fish 2 cubes of frozen LRS Reef Frenzy per day, and feed my corals Reef Roids once per week. No other additives.
  24. I can just save my old saltwater from my water changes for you to add to your system. You'll get plenty of nitrates from me. 🤣 My tank tends to be between 8 - 16 ppm NO3 and 0.05 ppm PO4 consistently.
  25. Just following up on this thread. I got my ICP test results and nothing seemed too far out of normal: I haven't seen any signs of further loss, and all my other corals appear healthy.
