  1. That's a great idea! My current snail flipper is just a long bamboo skewer.
  2. Nice. I repurposed a Planters peanut container as a water trap to keep excess water out of my co2 scrubber. I loved its large flat lid.
  3. I am always intrigued by the tools fellow hobbyists have utilized as an effective tool for aquarium maintenance or other purposes. I know everyone on here has such a tool (or several) that was not meant to reef keeping but gets lots of use in the hobby. What is a standout tool you get a lot of use out of or would immediately replace if lost or broken?? What do you use it for?? Pics are very helpful but not required.
  4. George Moreland Plumbing has scheduled 80 fittings. The Tigard location has the most.
  5. Hi Bevo - Classified posts require a price on the listing.
  6. Who else is making room and saving up for the show?? 🙋‍♂️
  7. Your Temps should not be swinging that much if controlled by the apex. Perhaps you have the sensor next to the heater? Also, you'd be surprised how effective a small fan blowing across the tank or sump is at lowering water temperature. You may not need a chiller.
  8. The great thing about a roller is it will take out uneaten food pretty effectively before it can break down. I had to supplement the roller with an algae scrubber. Both of those running to their max did cause my nitrates and po4 to get too low. I dialed back my scrubber to only run at night and that seems to be a good equilibrium for my system for the way I feed (mostly LRS reef frenzy 3x per day & nori). Rollers do take up a lot of room in the sump. Sump manufactures have a lot of opportunity to improve their designs to incorporate rollers more effectively. The other thing to consider on rollers is that Clarisea uses 50 micron filter paper and RedSea uses 200 micron. The Clarisea will pull much more waste but will use more paper (all things being equal). However, the Clarisea has a bypass valve that will allow some of the water to not get filtered if your nutrients are getting too stripped.
  9. Filter roller, skimmer, algae scrubber. I strongly recommend filter rollers.
  10. If you're running kalk you could get a second ph probe to monitor kalk concentration.
  11. Your lights also raise the ph. You can help keep the ph up at night by running a refugium light or algae scrubber light at night. You can also dose kalkwasser at night if you can adjust your alk to not overdose.
  12. It's here!!! Anyone use this stuff yet?
  13. If you want some free forest fire digi let me know. I'm in West Linn, or.

    Rock Build

That looks great! Very stable, hiding place for fish, plenty of space to mount corals... it has it all. Well done!
  15. I know you didn't mention other brands, but the Innovative Marine 170 & 200 gallon systems are 40% off right now.
  16. I don't think I've ever seen either of these two brands on sale. You might talk to All Things Aquariums in Wilsonville. I believe they are a Waterbox dealer (they currently have a new Waterbox 120 in stock).
  17. 48-60" Orbit Marine IC PRO Dual LED Light Fixture - with LOOP Controller These were used on my fish only tank for about a year. They are essentially the same as this model. These have 450nm blue LEDs, white, red, and green. All channels can be individually adjusted. Comes with Controller, remote, 2 LED strips, 2 power supplies. Good for about 100-125 PAR max
  18. I also ran a collection cup from a peanut container when I ran a co2 scrubber. It helped somewhat but ya, 100% humidity warm air entering a colder co2 scrubber will condensate out in the media.
