  1. Thanks for all the help everyone, I think my biggest problem in the past has been making changes too close to the leave date. I'll be gone for 5 days and I think if I can get some water changes in before leaving and put an extra ATO jug out for the i laws to switch, i think it'll be okay. I appreciate all the input and will definitely be referring back for longer trips!
  2. Just wondering what you do when you go on vacation and maintaining your tank. I've had the inlaws try to feed last time I went out of town and they totally over fed, somehow turned off the ato and the skimmer pump happened to also randomly break that weekend 🤨... needless to say one week out of town took months to recover. Heading to Hawaii next month and just want to see what others do?
  3. Just took measurements, it's probably too small for what you're looking for. 20long, 17 tall, it's an aqueon proflex sump... (model 1 I think) https://www.aqueon.com/products/filters-media/proflex-modular-sump-filtration Thinking about it, It was pretty tight with a simplicity 240 and return pump and ultimately why I switched it out.
  4. I might have something for you. I'll take dimensions this evening and send you a pm.
  5. Update: the initial "pore" spewing stoped and now it's coming out of another "pore"
  6. Came home today, and maybe this gsp is expelling it's corals? I've never seen this happen with the gsp. My water change is tomorrow (last water change was last week when i upgraded the sump and added additional about 10 gal to the over all system). Video file was too large but basically a stream of greenish color is coming out of what appears to be just one "pore". any ideas? Going to try and get to the water change today since i do see a little alge build up in areas.
  7. Unplugged and unscrewed and removed Apex classic, drilled and attached Apex EL... Then promptly learned my lesson to test before unplugging... This is the initial setup for the Apex El (bought used on Ebay) and when I try wireless I got blinking all colors to solid white light. When I try to hard wire Ethernet cord it is rapidly blinking blue. Forums I've seen suggest contacting Neptune and it sounds like people resolve with some simple steps over the phone. Has anyone experienced this that could share the tips with me while I wait for them to see my ticket?
  8. Thanks for the heads up on the fan, it was really helpful yesterday. All I can figure is the temp is creeping up with the warm weather. The heater is in the correct port and has been off, starting to warm today but not as bad as last week.
  9. That’s awesome, I have a snowflake too!! Also really cute they’re besties, I think they can overeat. You’ll know if they over do it because they’ll “throw up”, first few times I did it I thought they were dying but they eventually went back to normal. The ones in my tank I try to usually directly feed once a week or at least when the tentacles start to look long and stringy, then they tend to bubble back up after a little food. Never had a LTA but imagine they’re needs would be very similar?
  10. Idk last summer I tried without and was constantly 82-84…. Switched to a new tank though that does have built in fan, thanks for the heads up. I’ll try it this weekend!! just checked the plug, It’s in the right spot. I thought maybe the heater might stay warm after kicking on? I’ll investigate more this evening.
  11. Let’s close this thread, all available nems have been claimed.
  12. This looks about where I have my temp set too as well, appreciate you sharing. I just looked at my parameters on apex and the fluctuations seem big (or maybe the graph make it look bigger than it is?) low of 77.6 to 79.2….maybe need to dial in the heater a little bit more too. Right now I’m running it off the apex and then the heater itself has a setting to be 78 if the apex fails.
  13. I’ll be at the show!! That would be so awesome! My fish and corals would be so happy!
