I just wanted to give props to All Things Aquariums for stocking a lot of great hard goods. They have really saved the day by having things I needed on hand. Thanks to this thread I realized I could tap into my hot water heater feed line and run the discharge line to the drain of my HVAC unit sitting right next to it. Easy peasy. The slender 18" 50 gal Wesco tank fit perfectly in between the water heater and HVAC as well I ended up using a 3/4" brass tee fitting from Lowes to tap into the cold water line. Then I used a 3/4" quarter turn garden hose spigot with the 3/4" -> 1/4" fitting that came with the RO unit from BRS.

I picked up this little guy to help with algae control after my yellow tang didn't make it during the recent freeze and power outage. He's a great little grazer! At night, he loses his spots and gains white patches on his head; like some sort of camouflage with the surrounding rock work. Anyone know what kind of blenny this is??

I also have this skimmer and was thinking about upgrading to a DC skimmer. What DC pump did you put in it? Any issues getting it dialed in?

Thanks again for the replies and suggestions. It looks like the chaeto is no longer dying off. I tried increasing the light duration by going all the way to 24hrs a day and it was making it worse. So I set it back to 12 hrs a day and just waited. I guess it just needed some time to get acclimated to this light because it seems to be doing fine now. BTW - bought this from RUSALTY.COM. 1st purchase from them. Perhaps the ground shipment from FL was the reason for the partial loss. 🤷‍♂️

Thanks for all the replies and suggestions. My salinity is 33ppt / 1.0245 PO4 is .15 and NO3 is 25 (Nyos kits) I do a 30% water change monthly. I did a Chemiclean treatment about 6 weeks ago for some red slime, followed by a 30% water change about 2 weeks ago. Put the chaeto in a week ago after removing about 4 cups of algea from the sump. Would the residual chemiclean hurt chaeto?
