So I have been thinking about building a long zoa lagoon tank. Like 6 x 2 x16". I always wanted a tank that was covered head to toe with zoas. Just zoas.. you have seen photos of how incredible this can look. The thing is, I have not purchased zoas in a long time. There are kind of weird.. one month they are $50 a head and a month later they are $10 a head. I mean, the grow like crazy and are hard to kill.. so it seems like I might be able to get the hook up from a few members. Maybe collect a bunch of zoas and then 6 months later, distribute zoas that the original givers don't have? This would be a great example of the "classic" reef keeper state of mind... just share. Share what you have and sell things for a bargain because what comes around goes around. This is the type of mindset that ruled before $150 1" frags and $600 torches were common. Or I could trade some SPS for a pack of zoas? Thoughts?

This is not ordinary saw dust and glue, this is coated in plasitc. It also comes with most of the plumbing. The plumbing is actually really great because it is aerospace plastic; meaning its the thinist, lightest, mosy brittle plastic money can buy. It needs: New door hinges A new return stand pipe because, well because i am stronger than aerospace materials. Would I put this in my bachelor pad with blue LED backlighting in hopes of finally scoring that woman of my dreams? No. But for a QT system it would work really really well. Since it is $100 and new ones are upwards of $1,000. I expect any interested party to offer me less than i am asking. If you could haggle over like 30 text messages and then not show up when you say you would, that would be ideal. Thank you

I would run it for about ten minutes in either vinegar or citric acid solution. Plastic does not have a charge that would attract copper ions. Furthermore, copper in saltwater is bound to organic ligands which makes removal even more difficult. When you think of activated carbon and its purification properties, it is actually the millions...billions? of tiny poors that molecular attraction pulls substances into and "fills" them. Plastic, glass, nor silicone do not have such properties. Anywho.. your good.

Well, what is the size of the area you are lighting? I have tried several several "aquarium" reflectors. Some were pretty good.. some.. like the Hamilton cayman sun.. I was like "where the hell is the light going" certainly not down. The reefbrite hood looks pretty solid and ..Reefbrites. You could also go ebay cheee-I-nah T% and halide hood. T5 and MH are kind of the best of both worlds.

My 2 cents..and trust me, I have more MH ballast and refector experience than anyone on this forum than anyone. I would go with lad a sharks refectors and kshacks selecta watt. Running a 250 at about 300 watts produces ideal light. You can pm me and i can talk bulb colors if you want. If you want DA BALLER' MH setup, like out of this world good.. try to find a used geisman spectra.
