  1. Oh! I’m running one of the preset ones from AI. My LFS said it’s what they were running on a tank I liked the look of so I went with it. It’s this one: https://www.aquaillumination.com/signature_series/leon-tan
  2. I’ve been enjoying the AI Prime! What light are you using?
  3. I have most of a bucket left from a small rock scape I did a few months back. PM me🙂
  4. I’m so late to this party, but if you happen to have an extra head floating around, count me in….
  5. Well, in any event..I decided that no matter what they are, I’m sure they aren’t helping the coral. I pulled it out and removed three of them by puncturing their “shell” with a knife and scraping them off. Whatever they were, there was a substantial chunk of guts in each of them.
  6. In a continued struggle to determine why I have an unhappy torch, I noticed some strange things on the side of the base. When open, I can see gill shaped things inside. Shading it from the light causes it to instantly close like a feather duster would (see video below), then slowly open again. Anybody know what these might be? IMG_1824.MOV
  7. Hoping for some input about how my new torch is looking. Initially, it was in pretty constant one directional flow and didn’t really want to open too much. I’ve since moved it to a spot with nice, random, indirect flow…yet it still seems more closed than the rest of my euphyllia. I’ve been running my light on acclimation, starting super low (like 25%) and slowly increasing it since Saturday when I added them (currently at 60%). Here are a few shots from different angles, with a full tank shot showing it’s placement (top/back).
  8. Last but certainly not least..the GOLD TORCH! (slightly pissed off because I just moved it) This was from my grab bag: I also met with @Blue_collar_fish_keepers while there and picked up these BEAUTIFUL cristata frags!
  9. I picked up my mystery box and a grab bag from @CuttleFishandCoral yesterday and let me just say…the generosity of Jeff is unreal. I asked for a box of euphyllia and zoas and BOY did he deliver. Considering one of the pieces is worth what I paid for the box..I’m blown away to say the least. I don’t have a lens for my phone yet, so you have to deal with blue.. I would love help identifying what the first one is!
  10. After the first few high quality blue photos I’ve started taking, it’s very apparent that I will need to buy a lens kit for my phone. Amazon has a whole bushel of options that all look identical..but slightly different. Any recommendations?
  11. Update for all of you who I’m sure are absolutely GLUED to this thread (😂): First of all, the abused zoa has improved significantly. While I did lose 2/3 polyps, I have hope in this little fella: Secondly, I picked up this suuuper sexy splatter hammer from TPA. I’m not happy with the orientation that I glued it in, but it’s chillin for now:
  12. I added in some life over the weekend! -Clownfish pair (one misbar, one normal) -5 blue leg hermits -5 nassarius snails (love watching these things pop up a minute or two after feeding!) -3 different types of zoas (3/3/2 polyps, nothing crazy) The clowns are doing exceptionally well. They were FEASTING on dry pellets within minutes. Today on my lunch break, I ran by my house and topped off the tank a decent amount (was way too much; temp bottle ATO coming tomorrow, then I’ll decide on a nice one). Almost instantly, I noticed the female (my misbar) absolutely spazzing out. Seizing every few seconds. I also noticed some aggression that I hadn’t seen yet. I thought I was torturing my fish with the RO water coming in from the back and felt terrible. After a quick search, I realized they were just vibing out with each other and bonding??? As soon as I figure out how to upload a video, I’ll share a clip of it! In more sad news, I may or may not have actually abused one of the 3p zoa frags during dipping/cleaning and let’s just say…only one polyp seems to stand a chance at this point. Obviously, they are my favorite of the three types I purchased… More info to come on operation save-a-zoa…
