  1. Great to have you here, Steve. Can't wait for pictures of your set up. Welcome!
  2. Great opportunity to pick up that quarantine tank we all should have.
  3. Hmmm. Comes through sort of blurry. Back to the drawing board.
  4. http://www.magisto.com/int/album/video/fj0qRlFeGAQqO3wBDmEwCXp9?l=vsm&o=a&c=o I'm trying a new video making app. This is a test run.
  5. It would be great to see you, Troy! I want to hear about your trip... My only word of caution is that we only have 45 minutes or so at each shop, which means the shops are going to have to help 20 of us with choosing, bagging, and ringing up our purchases in a very short amount of time. We actually thought about getting a larger bus, but decided 20 was already pushing it.
  6. Can't see why not! Looking forward to meeting you.
  7. All Aboard the Party Bus! Post below if you want to ride. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  9. I thought these links were helpful. Don't miss clicking on the picture. There are more pictures of the same zoa from different people, some of which look very different from the initial picture. http://www.zoabrary.com/m/ http://www.coralpedia.com/index.php?module=Gallery2&g2_itemId=15
  10. I've had babies growing on a dying fungia plate for some time so I finally decided to frag a few. The mama is a beautiful lavender and green. Hopefully these will be as striking.
  11. Thanks for the explanation, Bert. You've always been super-generous with the club and fellow reefers. I'm just learning how this works. So it's not a PNWMAS-sponsored Grow Out, or a Cuttlefish-sponsored Grow Out. You just purchased the acro at Cuttlefish and have put in a lot of money and TLC into it and are running a fun contest. Got it.
  12. Picking up on my question about types of grow outs, for this one, do the proceeds go to the club? Maybe we should donate them to the food drive!
  13. Can someone spell out for me the types of "Grow Outs" and how they work? I have heard of people doing a "Group Buy" and then having a Grow Out competition. I have heard of an individual with a large colony starting a contest or even to just see what that coral does in certain conditions (lighting, parameters, etc). I have heard of a group of people doing a Grow Out to raise money for a sponsor. Can someone describe "Grow Outs"?
  14. How are you choosing participants, Bert? First-come-first-served? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  15. The Officers/Board Members are on it! We're putting together a bus tour. Stay tuned.
  16. Holy moly! That is amazing. I want one of doze, and one of doze, and one of doze. Had I known that black bandit angelfish were reef-safe, I would have ordered a couple. Speaking of which, how does he have so many of these "not reef safe" fish in his beautiful reef tank? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  17. I'll play! The 110 gallon DSA The 43 gallon Reefer The 36 gallon bow front
  18. They should look like the second picture with the straight skirts?
  19. I thought the word "expensive" was not in a reefer's vocabulary. There's only: 1. "I've got the money to buy this," 2. "I can find the money to buy this," 3. "My wife doesn't think I have the money to buy this, but she does not know we can make interest-only mortgage payments," and 4. "Brad's already bought it."
  20. Does your wife know you had 8 women over?
  21. And the aquascaping is...well...it is a really nice forest fire.
  22. Thanks, Jeremy! Great tips. In addition to the ones you mentioned, he said that he tries to split any new coral he buys into two and then tries them in different parts of his tank to see how they do. I don't know why I never thought of that! Also, I thought it was interesting that when he puts a new zoa in his tank, he mounts them elevated from the rock. It looks like he uses a one-inch cylindrical frag plug (not tapered or on a post, just soup-can shaped) to mount it on his rock so that he can easily break it off and frag it.
  23. Yes! Actually George and I talked Reefer last week. I'm still really pleased with the tank. I love the lines, the quality of the stand, and the sump. My only problem has been with the ATO. I really like that it is designed to fit right above the sump. It is gravity-fed so it is a simple design. The problem is with the float. It has failed a couple of times now which obviously caused some problems. I've ordered a new one so I'm sure alls good. It's a great tank, in my opinion. George--go for it...and post a tank thread!
