  1. We are located in Hillsboro on Cornelius Pass Rd. We are just hoarders!!
  2. I have a mid level lens on my canon. It's not a fixed macro.... it can get some descent shots.... but nothing like that 100mm 2.8 with that L series glass in it!! latest pic i was able to capture with my old canon DSLR and a 18-85mm EFS lens.
  3. Great shots man!! At some point, i will cough up the cash to get that dang lens!! nice job!!
  4. +1 on that.... or use an epoxy to fill those cracks..... and as stated.... sand and paint. Use a high grit for your finish sanding. I would go to at least a 400grit. This will give you a smooth surface for painting. I would also swap out that support piece... it looks like steel. Grab strip of aluminum and put it on the under side. you can cover it in epoxy and it will bond with the plastic. Give it a much more support. Then when you are all done, you likely won't even know it was broken. GL!!
  5. Alright everyone.... looks like this is on!! Next steps.... Bret and I will start fragging. I know everyone is eager to get this going, but first priority to me.... everyone gets a HEALTHY frag. Now that i know there are so many of you ready to go.... then we will get to work! I will create a new thread for the actual grow out, and distribution of frags. That thread will include all of the rules... including posting dates and photo requirements. Thank you everyone for wanting to participate. I think this is a great zoa... that will grow well! I really hope you all enjoy this opportunity!
  6. Show me your fish!! Winner is determined by PNWMAS members and visitors. Good Luck!!
  7. Good Day everyone! So Mr. Bret and I are cleaning some racks and have some zoas that we can use for a grow out competition for Supporting Members. What we have are these: Here is how it will work.... There is a $15 buy in. What this gets you... a multi head frag of Sakura's. You will get at least a few heads of the zoa for grow out. The money will ALL go to prizes.... minus the cost for plugs and glue. I will post all of that so it is clear. Participant count will determine further details. Please post if you are interested in doing this. This will help me determine what i will need in frag supplies, and if this is even something you guys want to do with this zoa. I really like these guys.... they will totally change depending on the light they are in. Even with that, they seem to morph as they grow changing hue and some color patterns. You can see some of this in the pic above. So if you are a Supporting Member of this forum... please post if you are interested. If you are not yet a Supporting Member.... this may be one of many good reasons to consider supporting the club. Thank you for reading..... let's get it on!!!!
  8. 6hrs isn't bad.... i don't have experience moving things that far, but i would think you could just remove the water into something like a cooler. Put the livestock in that... maybe get a couple of those heating pads to throw in if the water starts to get cool. Leave the substrate in the tank. Don't change it or move it out. Then put the same water back in the tank... minus maybe 25-50% like suggested above. Give it some new water. I wouldn't think if you did that you would go through a cycle. I think people have lost power to their tanks longer than that and been fine.
  9. If you can remove the rock to do this, i would suggest it. Wear gloves.... goggles... all the safety stuff. Fill a container with some tank water and iodine(Lugols). Then do all of the cutting/removal under the water in that separate container. Doing it this way will minimize the toxin release into your tank and reduce risk of skin exposure to toxins.
  10. just paste the entire URL to the youtube video in your post. The forum will add the necessary tags to display it.
  11. If i had the cash right now.... i would go for it for the body and the flash. My old canon doesn't even have much of the grip anymore. 30k in shots on it..... i am due! You can blame our government and their constant need for my money!!
