Sounds like the bucket is leaching something. I use the square water jugs you can get at Winco. I feel better about those being designed to hold water, whereas a Home Depot bucket isn't for holding drinking water. Maybe try a vinegar bath for the bucket and see if that helps, otherwise I'd suggest buying a drinking water specific vessel (they are only $5 or less).

No he did say that the "premium" koi were in the front. We were just looking at all the barn sale stuff and the huge ponds. Found it on gmaps...yeah...those are big ponds LOL If I were you Jesse I'd check it out, selection is insane in the membrane.

We stumbled upon a "barn sale" up in Battleground a month or so ago and they also had TONS of Koi in a huge pond and several holding tanks. Water was literally churning with them. They had some that were not premium by their definition for as low as $35 for some larger 8+ inch ones. Price was all about how premium they were. I'll have to try and find it again, not a store front or anything but the owners are into it. Probably wouldn't mind someone dropping by on an afternoon weekend.

I heard a long while ago $600, but price seems speculative at this point. They also said they needed new testing discs every so often so they will have an ongoing cost associated. Regardless, if it works, it's worth every penny. It's basically like having an ongoing triton test in your tank 24/7.

Been watching this on FB for a year or so. If this is successful it's going to be a game changer! TAKE MY MONEY MINDSTREAM!

I saw someone modify one of those square leather opening ottomans (Ross always has them cheap LOL) to hold a sump externally. I'm sure it would be much easier to get power supplies in. Cool from the bottom and should be good to go.

Just a heads up, if you can only get a 5lb a lot of shops will swap you out for a 10lb or bigger if you want. I did that last fill (I think it was only like $20 extra to swap up). Good luck on the search.

I did under mine with 4x4s on pyramid blocks (I think that's what their called, made for decks and such). If I did it again, house jacks would have been easier. And my house has TGIs that run parallel with the tank so that's mostly why I did it.

If it's in a sump, the area it refills is relatively small, like 10x18 or something (probably equates to 1/10 or less of a gal). In my frag tank it's refilling 24x48 between triggering which is like 2+ gals at a time despite the shallow trigger. Not ideal for a smaller frag system to keep swings to a min.

Just bought this from Waves, not going to work for my application since I don't have a sump. In pretty much mint condition. Asking what I paid for it $60.

If your in a pinch, Amazon prime a jebao dp4 for $90. Honestly though, I'd be wary of quick doser setup if your on vacation. Not saying you can't, but I like to be on the cautious side.

Yeah I could print one but that would take me drawing the whole thing up in CAD and waiting to print it. Not something I do for one off parts. Instead buy a jebao dc12000 and my impeller/venturi kit and you'll have 80 scfh of air skimming power! I've heard the psk2500 is a bit of a pain and has trouble restarting.
