  1. With it being a smaller tank with no sump you could probably get away with a furniture piece of some sort, maybe ikea with a few added reinforcements? You can figure you will be around 160-180 lbs all said and done so you can check if the furniture can handle the load (if they give specs). Or just get a 200 lb friend to go sit on everything in Ikea until something doesn't break
  2. As Chris said, a water change is going to be the easiest "fix" at this point. Some other pointers: - you shouldn't be dosing soda ash straight. You should follow a BRS/online recipe and dosing guide using their calculator. Mix it up into a liquid and dose sparingly. - changing anything rapidly in the tank is going to make your coral mad. Losing colors (browning) or bleaching will occur from this. Get some test kits and see how your tank responds day to day and uses up Alk, Ca, and Mg and make a dosing plan. I would do a larger water change and the leave it, everything has had enough changes for the day. Let things coast and test but take things easy and avoid over correcting as has happened.
  3. DIY dude! Seriously though, if you can get ahold of Arminius he does great work and is local. I know there is someone else on here who does too. Have you considered a steel stand with wood face? Wish I had all that extra space a steel stand can provide.
  4. Weird, well that was a thought. Some people with new skimmers freak when they don't work right away and they don't realize they all need some degree of break in. Not sure why it's causing so many issues, I would think that Sicce pump would be nice. You have any airway or pump restrictions?
  5. How long have you had the skimmer running? Sounds like it hasn't broken in yet. You are saying you can't get foam to the cup without the outlet being mostly closed? Do you have it in the correct water depth?
  6. Dang! I need to make a trip out! Apex's and Radion Pros on the shelf!?! Legit! Did you not get the frog? Where's the pics?
  7. SeanS picked mine up at the meeting...so may want to mark me off. Did you get PayPal setup so I can pay you?
  8. ^LOL Looks beast Jeremy...let's make a pinwheel for it hahaha! 200scfh here we come!
  9. I gotta give him a shoutout for the trades we did today, super nice stuff and nice conversation. Thanks again Issac!
  10. SeanS will be grabbing mine also. Let us know where to pay and how much we owe
  11. No sorry All zoas are spoken for! We'll call the Yumas spoken for too until after pickup. Still have beast birdsnest frag...anyone want to make an offer?
  12. I had them in the past and after catching them at night stealing food out of my open brains mouths they were banished to the sump! Never bought them again. They do nice work on bubble algae though!
  13. That would be a bit spendy for $5-10 worth of Yumas since priority would be about $15. I haven't shipped any corals myself and would rather not. If you ever make it up here hit me up and I'll hook you up! Everything is located in Orchards area of Vancouver
  14. Yeah it was a nice frag to begin with but once they hit the rack, off to the races! Make offers on the birdsnest, really just want that half of my rack back ????????
  15. I'll get to it one of these days LOL! I really need to, they are growing all over the place now ????
  16. Maybe an utter chaos frag 2 month old pic, everything is bigger now Newer pic of birdsnest, actinics on sorry! Taking up most of my rack!
  17. I'd check R2R, I've picked 2 up on there and rarely see them here. GL
  18. Lol that's cool! Do you have 2 or did you just buy a preggers? Will be interesting to see if they hatch
  19. If be curious to see if that style works as well as claimed. You saw mine, just using the standard SF bay hatchery base with a 2ltr on it. Works fine for me so far, just have to shut it off with lights out and wait for them to go to the bottom. I siphon through a brine net from eBay using the same air inlet tube.
  20. My only warning about tiles is to use the rough/non finished side. Glue does not stick well at all to the finished glazed side of the tile and people will have frags flying off the plugs (which I would assume would be disqualification).
  21. You ever check the bearing to see if it's locked up? I noticed this happening on the one I borrowed for R&D on the pinwheel. I believe what happens is it gets something in there and locks up. If the pump isn't turned off reasonably soon it burns up the motor. May want to write that shutoff into your program for the water level sensor. Could save a pump! Seems like just a few thousands extra clearance would have saved this from happening.
  22. http://www.bulkreefsupply.com/reef-octopus-8-regal-200int-internal-protein-skimmer.html Or id get the 220 for the larger pump. These new DC pumps are beast!
