  1. I have a 40b tank and also had this annoying algae. I bought a big gallon thing of Kent Mag. Dosed a massive amount, close to half the bottle, over the course of 3 weeks. I watched as the algae turned white and faded away forever.
  2. This is going to be an awesome build to follow, EPIC +1 lol.
  3. Stunning tank, what are the dimensions? Really liking the look of your rock work and how much room you gave for growth, well thought out.
  4. I figured I would throw in my update with the UAS. The first two months of running this things I was convinced I was going to rip it out for the algae growth was dismal, and I figured that my system just couldn't make it work. (I also have algae in my fuge) WELL I WAS WRONG. The thing started to really kick in. So much so that I just conducted my only water change in 2 months and I hardly think it was even necessary. I usually do a change of 30% every 2 weeks. My sand bed has cleared up big time too. With the water change I pulled out a good baseball sized amount of algae off the scrubber, couldn't be happier! I will always be running one of these. I will post pics of its growth next time I change water. Many months from now.

    SPS help

I have 4 high quality LET retrofits on my 40b, keeps sps very well. Two 175's are gonna be very nice.
  6. Wish my car didn't just break down, I wanted something like this for my office.
  7. I've found that Upscales has the high end stuff that you gotta have. The TPA crew treats you like family, and if you get there before others have hit their shipments, you get some really nice stuff. BUT, I also hit up Coral Reef in Salem. The owner is really super friendly, and they have some decent stuff. Worth it if your are in Salem anyways!!
  8. I wish that I could risk a flame angel in my tank, last one destroyed my sps. /sigh.
  9. Putting a new filter sock in is the only reason I ever get skimmer overflow.
  10. Nice, we should all keep in contact. Do some money saving, keep it local, frag trades
  11. Good meeting you today Kip, stunning tank. I'll be seeing you around for sure.
  12. How are you trying to reduce them?
  13. I removed the junk out of my setup a while ago, best decision ever. Tank is so much easier to keep crystal clear.
  14. Ya +1, you can ask Garrett to special order jussstttttt about anything.
  15. Ah a Corvallis Reefer leaving....
  16. All good, I'll find it somewhere
  17. Got a 6 dollar bubble block from petco, a 57 cent cross stitch from Micheal's, and a 5 dollar flood light from HD. I had the air pump already. This is my tank, it doesn't look bad because I have just cleaned it of pounds of cyano bacteria. I've tried vinegar dosing lately and it had really gotten worse. I don't have the room or the desire to set up a bio reactor and my fuge is not cutting it. So here is my current tank.... Here is the Sump I put the scrubber in... The bulb is about 3 inches from the acrylic, tons of bubbles, we will see...
  18. Oh I have been wanting one, put me down for one please
  19. I will be implementing this soon as I have had some steady failures trying to lower phosphates and nitrates.
