  1. they a freakin durable. they can tolerate just about any condition. the M-16 may be more precise, but certainly not as hardy. that is what i heard from a gun nut once
  2. hey man i have some, i would be happy to rip you off a hunk! free of charge, but i wont say anything if you give me frag(whistle)
  3. OOPS. i tried to respond to the suggestion of flame polishing! should have probably looked first at the bottom lol yikes
  4. dont do that!! that leads to stress and eventuallyCRAZING(scary)(scary) i am a NOOB and i buffed out with some novus (didnt even bother with the 3) and i had good results. use a car waxing buffer attached to a drill for application. easy peasy good luck
  5. that rock can be soaked in high salinity stuff too. barelycuda did this for bristle worms and he had good results, the high salinity is intolerable for worms and the bacteria can deal with it. oh and by the way. just to throw this out for kicks and giggles. and no insult is intended. you have just proven why anarchism is unsustainable and government must be inserted: if you just left the tank as it is that would be like anarchism: free for all, no government (as in the tank keeper). but this is bad, there is an poor balance, and fish are dying (like people would be starving etc). so the best solution? install government restrictions, as you have said. the government restriction would be to eliminate the problem(get rid of all the fire worms). once again this is just my idea of being silly. i have no intention of angering you, or downplaying your convictions.
  6. last night i was FREAKING out about my beloved wrasse and i couldnt find it. I assumed my anemone ate it (like your story(sad)) i waited until the next day, and he was alright, must have just been tucked away. so have hope!
  7. talk to joel, aka WAVES he has great deals on skimmers, new and used he is the FIRST person to talk to, and i mean it shoot him a PM, you will not regret it
  8. i like the smaller fish! my personal fav: a midas blenny they are super cool and very hardy good looking tank, it looks super neat in the canopy and the bottom part... well not as neat, but neater than mine(laugh)
  9. yeah, isnt it an awesome skimmer? i love mine
  10. great looking tank! is that a RBTA that is really pink? and filter sock, IDK what you mean by "no sock" like no mechanical filtration? and yes, they should plug up pretty quick
  11. seeing as my father is in the glass industry, i am able to gets some made for a low price, i just need a product description, and a length
  12. what exactly makes a glass spot feeding tube? is it just a tube? or does it require a ball at the end?
  13. i am pretty serious about the fish. who are you looking into buying from? wouldn't they have a catalog?
  14. probably firefish, jawfish, gobies, cardinals. do inverts count too?
  15. i have an ATO, it is a spectum brand. i am unsure if it works or not, i got it with an aquarium. i could sell it pretty cheap
  16. what type of angelfish is that? everything looks great!
  17. always check fish and livestock for signs of stress or illness: this can be a good indicator that something is off on the parameters. if the illness is present, diagnose accordingly, and promptly make an action plan.
  18. and the defining factor here is that is appears to be perfectly logical to prioritize coral over clothing
  19. and the fourteen day guarantee... that is really good
  20. i got a dart snapper hybrid from marine depot. a few questions: #1 which impeller is which, there is one in the box labelled "b" #2 do i have to do any additional set-up other than a plug and play? #3 should i be using a dart or a snapper impeller? i have a 100 gallon tank, skimmer has it's own pump. thanks
  21. a herbie drain is composed of two pipes. one pipe is below the water level and is at a constant siphon, controlled by a ball valve with flow tuned to match that of the return pump, while the other pipe is above the water surface, and acts as a backup in case that the first pipe gets clogged. does this make any sense?
  22. uhhh... one or two fish? this is a ten or twenty gallon tank we are talking about, that is is more than enough. as for parameters, they go crazy in mini tanks, so they would be harder to deal with and more frequent if there is a noob taking care of it... ? also. spending 300- 500 dollars isn't the most appealing thing for a new customer. fifty is better... dont get discouraged! it is a good idea!!
