  1. Yeah, jeff is a real nice guy. he is always willing to get some cool new stuff. it looks great, and the polyp extension doesnt look too bad either
  2. i am sorry to hear for your loss. i know how painful it is to loose a critter (sad)
  3. Hello, i have a halloween hermit crab and a cowrie. the reason that i am selling them is because i initially bought them to put in a non-coral tank, however i am now adding coral to my tank. The halloween hermit is reef questionable. i bought him from gill a while back, who said that it munched his frogspawn. i haven't had this experience, i had frogspawn hanging out with it for the last month or so and no problems. but i am just playing it safe. and also, it hasn't been very nice to my other large hermits ( i think it is because they are in a biocube). i will post pictures in a bit. the hermit is pretty large, and REALLY cool looking. for anybody who wants this, it is a great addition to a tank that isn't dominated by coral. IMO i think it is okay with xenia, and other softies. anyways, 20$ As for the cowrie. i have had no troubles with him. he is pretty small, and i got him thinking he would go in a FOWLR + hardy inverts tank. i bought him for 6 bucks at the aquarium. he is yours for 3$. or a frag of anything. except xenia. if you buy the halloween, i will give you the cowrie for free. (AND PLEASE NOTE: THESE ARE REEF QUESTIONABLE INVERTEBRATES)
  4. you can always get some acrylic rod and glue it in for support. his can also be dome if it is already set up. so no worries i think
  5. i meant that the canopy was high enough that the light spread wasn't favorable, so you got the more closed ones that were more focused. or i am just mistaken. either way they are as good as new
  6. i also have one that i can lend if that doesn't work out for you reefnjunkie

    Yellow tang trio???

i have been thinking about doing the same thing myself. it would be a nice addition to have some schooling fish
  8. BUMP! i saw them. they are as good as new! i vouch! the only reason he isn't using the is because he didnt have the right canopy setup that accommodated the reflectors. this IS NO SCAM

    125 Lagoon

the tank looks WAY more full now. i am digging the lightside, darkside effect, it is pretty cool. what type of softie is that in the HQI zone?
  10. Lafishguy uses a garden hose for all of his tanks, and he doesnt have problems. just sayin'
  11. i got one: they are SWEET! mine is actually unplugged(or not), all it has is a power head, and it is doing great. i would definately consider unplugged as an option. my nitrates are at 0, and it has been a month. live rock and a DSB are more filtration than anyone would know! and my corals grow like crazy. and for those of you who oppose this post ethically, i would like to say that every thing in the tank is NOT from the ocean, it is tank raised/bred. and i check water daily for spikes in anything that would harm the inhabitants.
  12. dont do fish only: all the cool non reef safe fish are too big for 24 gallons! i like the idea of a maxi mini tank, or a sea horse tank. i was toying around with making a macro algae forrest tank, which would be cool for seeing inverts and fish. plus, it is CHEAP! and you would have a KILLER 'fugium built in too.
  13. i have buffed out three tanks. it is easy! dont be scared. the hardest part is sanding. if you go to an auto store (like napa) buy a polishing wheel for a car that will go in your drill, and then buy some #2 buffing compound and buff like never before! dont push to hard on some of the wheels that are hard rather than soft. the hard ones will create too much friction and might burn the tank. easily fixed however. the best part of buffing a tank is how easy you can correct mistakes. take your time, and you will understand. i once completely buffed a tank, then i was washing it out in a sink (the final step), and i knocked the tank over (it was a small tank)... i inflicted more damage then i had fixed DOH! ten minutes later... better than ever. it is a good skill to learn, and not very difficult at all. call me / pm me if you want some more detail
  14. i am digging this lol what is the species?
  15. i am definitely going to buy some more stuff from tim! i love the store, and he really makes customer service a priority
  16. i heard rose city had some cool macro. and Reefcleaners.com also had REALLY cool macro
  17. nice, but i hear those sea cucumbers are... well... lets just say you shouldnt poke the bear lol
  18. i got one the other day as well, they are awesome
  19. if it is brookynella, make sure to treat it quick, that is one of the few diseases that will kill a clown quick. a good way to tell would be if the white/swollen area spreads
