  1. Hey Brad, You have inspired me to also run NP pellets now. Since bacteria that live on the NP pellets eat much more nitrate than phosphate, I'll keep running GFO at the same time. I'm going to start with a small amout of pellets as you have described. Carbon dosing ya! Mark
  2. David Saxby is famous for having one of the best personal tanks in the world, you'll see pictures of his tank in many books. It looks like he replaced it with this new tank.
  3. I have an ATB cone skimmer and I can adjust the flow into the overflow cup by rotating the vertical pipe. This rotation opens or closes the output opening, with completly open causing the least overflow. The height of the water that the skimmer sits in has a large effect and it took me awhile to get that settled. Every time I clean my skimmer it overflows like crazy, so I have to open the output to the max and run the skimmer with the drain open for a few hours until a coating builds up on the neck. Then I close the drain valve and cut the output down some.
  4. I have a couple of troughs I can lend you. I used them to store my live rock in while cleaning it. Each is well over 50 gallons.
  5. I haven't compared them, but I think the bluelines are quieter. They are much bigger.

  7. If you join Reef Central (<$30), you will be able to post your tank for sale there without posts. Or post a strange thread somewhere and bump it every 2 hours. A thread about putting a 6th tang in your 55 will get a lot of responses and allow you to post many replies quickly.
  8. I'll take the monti for $15. Are you going to be coming to pdx soon? - Mark
  9. I have bought a number of corals from Jon that were a very good deal and are happy in my tank.
  10. I have some red lettuce algae, large and colorful.
  11. Jordan, I'll take the best working Seaswirl. - Mark
  12. I'll take a 3 polyp rainbow revenge. -Mark
  13. I'll take the supernatural. - Mark
  14. 250W in good reflectors sounds fine for 24" deep. You will probably want to add some blue flourescents in front and back for startup and shutdown gradual lighting. And for taking pictures that make some corals look "fantastic".
  15. Mightymagnets sells different grades of sandpaper attached to cleaning pad material in a kit to remove scatches.
  16. I can lend you an ETSS 1400 and a large pump to run it if you want Brad. - Mark
  17. I would agree with a Dussumieri.
  18. I'll bring some beer and chips.
  19. What are the dimensions of the sump? I am looking for something similar. Mark
  20. Good to hear it will work out fine. It makes me think about trying the same thing with a future clown tank of my own.
