I think a tall tank looks better but doesn't work well. My tank is 36" deep and i have to have my face against the water surface to touch the bottom. I use a ladder of course and I can get to both the front and the back of the tank. I also have a good pair of long tongs. The greater depth requires stronger lights to reach the bottom though you can put corals there which don't require much light. If I could redesign my tank, it would be deeper and only 30" tall. It's hard to believe you can't easily reach the bottom of a 24" tall tank with good access unless you have very short arms.

+1 on the large size. I thought that the ARM coarse size was more uniform than what you have. Where did you see a price of $14 a gallon for genuine ARM?

Clay, I have a new/almost new 500W titanium heater to sell/trade, but no controller.

A closed loop is used to add circulation in a tank. It is an alternative to using powerheads. The intake for the closed loop is normally one or more bulkheads high on the back wall of the tank. The flow from these intakes goes to the pump and then is pushed back to the tank through bulkheads in the bottom of the tank, bulkheads in the back wall, or through returns that come over the top of the tank. These returns can often be hidden in rockwork so that they are not seen and can be placed anywhere to give you whatever flow you want. This is their main advantage over powerheads , which are more power efficient. Mark

Marine Depot has "Won Brothers" titanium heaters, 500W for $59.99. I have a new one for $40 and a barely used one for $30.

I need to have a tee added to my copper water line with a connection for my RO/DI system, as I am not getting enough pressure from the piercing saddle I am using, even with a booster pump. It works great when I connect to a faucet outside and run a line under the garage door. Does anyone know somebody who can cut my copper water line and add a tee with valve or faucet? I would prefer a reccomendation to just trying a plumber from the yellow pages. Thanks, Mark

Is the 400W ballast HQI?

I think a generator is your best bet. Maybe home depot will rent you one. I don't have anything that will help.

I'm using an Iwaki 70RLT, so a 100RLT would be best. I could use a Reefflo pressure pump if I had to.
