The star is already in there, but can be removed when I bring the tank home. Will also have a yellow tailed damsel that someone can have that's coming with the tank. I'd LOVE to have a little tang, but I don't want to be cruel to any fish. I worry about the space and what to do with it when it gets too big. The firefish sounds really cool though! So the planning has begun! I am upgrading to a new tank at the end of this week and I'm starting to figure out what I want. The lighting is a 150w HQI with 2 VHOs on the sides (I think). I would eventually like to upgrade that to a 250w HQI. Since there will be more space, I'd like to add a few more fish than I currently have. Here's my concept so far, any other ideas for or concerns? Things I haven't thought of? Fish: 2 false percs (transfer from current tank) 1 LMB (transfer from current tank) flame hawk fish yellow watchman goby inverts: CUC (hermits and various snails-astrea, cerith, nass) emerald crab? sand sifting star squasmosa clam (someday in the distant future) cleaner shrimp 2 peppermint shrimps Corals: Loads of zoas ricordea mushrooms palys fungia frogspawn (I'm gonna want lots) some type of SPS, not sure what yet.....

4th of July is the night that I sit at home, crank up the TV, and wait for the fireworks to be over. Such is the life of a sound sensitive dog owner. That said, I'm currently watching Iron man which is awesome. :-)

That I did do! Granted it was only because my brother called me while I was under the car to yell at me for not putting blocks behind the back tires. But he told me to do that, and to put some oil on the filter threads too.

LOL, there were folks who could have done it for me. But I'm kinda into self sufficiency and this is something that I've wanted to figure out for a while. So I finally went and bought some ramps. I think I may try to find a class on auto mechanics....seems there's alot that I may need some instruction on.

Now that's a really smart idea! I'll remember it, although I'm sorta hoping that I don't forget the washer again. Thanks!

I actually really like a lot of blue, don't know why its just my preference. I have a 150w 20K radium that is brand new in the box, so I may just toss that on for a while. so some SPS near the top would probably be alright until the funds rebuild to upgrade the lighting?

Hey all. Next week I am upgrading to a 40 gal tank (the one littlenano is selling in the classifieds) and I'm wondering about light. Do you think that 150w MH with 2VHO is enough light to do some SPS?

Just in case anyone was wondering....changing your oil for the first time on your own, with a massive hang over, in 97 degree heat is a fairly terrible idea. That said, I changed my own oil! Woot! I forgot to put the washer on the drain plug, so had to waste 4Q of brand new oil by draining it again and putting that on.....but its done and I did myself. All of you dads with daughters, do them a favor. Teach them young how to work on cars, the learning curve is much steeper when you're starting out in your 20s.
