  1. My puppy had a run in with a hobo spider. The photos are terrible because she was sensitive to light, but here is a sequence of photos taken about 3 hours apart. I dosed her with a TON of prednisone and some benedryl.
  2. I also ripped the false wall out of the back on my tank. It was an AIO pacific coast cube, but I wanted to add an over flow box to run a sump which I couldn't do with the false wall in there. So out it came! The lid too was quickly removed in leu of a sunpod fixture. Modifications to your tank are your decision. Anyone who disagrees is delusional.
  3. That's kinda neat! I don't think I could handle having the empty shell in my tank though. Despite how silly it may seem, I was pretty attached to this creature. I'm very sad to think that I caused its death, which is entirely likely. This is why I won't be trying another clam for a while, probably not till I have a much larger tank. I just don't want another death like this on my conscience.
  4. I definitely am glad that I got it out. There's no doubt that it was dead. The way I managed it without the crazy smell was to put a ziplock bag inside out over my hand. I grabbed the clam under the water, turned the back right side out and zipped it. Created a nice little seal so that I didn't have to smell the death. I am quite heartbroken over this poor little guy. I don't think I'll be trying another clam for quite a long time. It was so beautiful, and appeared to be doing well....right up until it died. So sad. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to live vicariously through others and look at lots of clam photos. So let's see 'em guys....calling all clam photos to make me feel better.
  5. Wow, thanks for the info guys! got it out....sad day.
  6. When I woke up this morning, I started to roll over to have my morning "stare at the tank" time and immediately noticed something not right with my little maxi clam. It had its shell open, but the mantle wasn't extended and there were two nass. snails on his foot. I'm quite sad about this, what a waste of such a beautiful creature! Sadly I also need to ask, should I remove the body from the tank or let my CUC eat it? Could leaving it for them cause any problems?
  7. You're totally right! I forgot to write the frogspawn down. Forgot my awesome fungia too! I'm not used to them in there yet! Everything is doing great though, looks awesome. i really love that FS, I'm so happy that I decided to take some home. Thank you bunches!
  8. Kangaroo is really yummy! And I go nutty for eel....mmmmm.....unagi......
  9. My tank feels so inadequate up against these monsters you guys are posting! Tank: 15.5g cube Sump: 7 gallon Filtration: 40 lbs LR Lighting: 150w metal halide, 20K radium Flow: Rio return pump and a koralia nano Livestock: 2 false percs, diamond goby, LMB, 3" maxi clam, lots of zoos, ricordia, mushrooms, feather duster worm.
  10. That's perfect! I'll definitely be around. Let me know when exactly and I'll be there.
  11. I don't care who bought the darned thing, it will ALWAYS be Candlestick Park in SF!
  12. Can my frag be left with Garrett? I'd rather go to Salem than Eugene. Thanks!
  13. My only concern is that I've never had any success getting fresh frags to stay glued to anything....ever. I'd really prefer that they come on plugs since the point of this competition is to see how identical frags do in different systems.....not who has the most talent at mounting frags.
  14. I have a LARGE purple/iridescent green mushroom on a piece of LRR and a pair of pastel green tonga mushrooms (also huge and on a piece of LR) that I'd like to trade for something neat. I'm particularly into zoas, ricordia, fungia, and really anything colorful. Let me know if you're interested! PS- the colors in the photo suck. These are much prettier in person. Also, the purple mushroom is the top one in the photo that is ginormous. I fragged it off and attached to LRR.
  15. I'd kick this guy out, but my sand is just so pretty now that I'd hate to go back to the grossness that it was before. Granted, the sand is pretty in two giant piles in the front, but beggers can't be choosers I suppose.
