How big is your tank? Before I upgraded, I have 6 pj cardinals and 3 banggi cardinals in 50gal cube for over 1 year. If no takers, you can just add the banggi cardinals. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk

I can hook you up with some ReeFi LEDs pendant style. PM if interested. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk

Can I see a show of hands? Who has a BIG tank?
danlu_gt replied to LadAShark's topic in General Discussion
I have a 235g reef tank. There are many ways to save money. I feel a lot of commercial available items are way over priced but they do look dare good! As for the tank itself, maybe worth to pay a bit more than potentially cause thousands more repair from bust. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk -
It's not the expense professional 3D printer. It's the cheaper desktop commercial 3D printer from XYZ. I have spend hours hacking/modifying it. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk

Thanks... ReeFi LEDs are awesome! A lot of low profile LEDs have inadequate cooling. LED data profile show decrease in intensity up to 30% when temp too high. So running at 80% power vs 100% power may not give you much light output difference. Worse case will shorten the life of the LEDs and permanently decrease intensity over time. ReeFi LEDs cooling solution is rated for over 300w while it's max power is 150W. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk

This is a great article about different wavelength light on coral photosynthesis. It's a bit hard to digest with first pass...look at table 10 and 11 about UV under 400nm. http://www.advancedaquarist.com/2014/5/aafeature Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk

I have a 30w 395nm UV already mounted on heatsink plus some basic drivers. I used it for my first DIY led project. Or if you just need the drivers, let me know. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk

I'm not ready for it but if you still have it in 2 weeks, let me know. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk

Yea.. it's pretty annoying. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk

So sorry about your tank. Let me know if you want some replacement SPS. I can share some love once your tank is ready. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk

Wow! How does it look in daylight? Got frag available? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk

WTB Or Trade For Hang On Back Type Fuge/Aquafuge

I have one in the garage. I think it's a CPR clear one but don't remember the model. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk -
3D printed black 1" 45 deg PVC for return. Didn't want to see any white PVC in the tank. Making overflow silencer now. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk

My equipment list: 4 ReeFi LEDs 4 jebao RW-8 1 jebao DC 9000 return 1 jebao DCT-8000 return (split to 2 50gal cubes) 1 unknown pump for algae scrubber 1 Reef Octopus skimmer (gift from my brother) Haven't finish plumbing the 2 50gal cube yet. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk

Got enough water to get one of the return pump online. Moved skimmer into the sump now. Just redistributed the sand. Looks like 1 40lb bag is not enough. Probably just need another 10lbs. I don't want a super thick sandbed. Planning to add another rock soon. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk

Oh shoot, I missed the deadline... Still trying to get my new system up running fully. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk

Put all live stock in last night and water finally cleared up. Corals enjoying their blast of light after 3 days in tub and fishes finally got fed. Everyone is enjoying this upgrade! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk

I also 3D printed conduit pipe holder clips. My wife said, "Why didn't you just buy that at home depot?". I told her that's about $15 savings going toward coral fund. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk

Added sand, even after rinsing 3 times, still made water super cloudy. Finally able to use the skimmer my brother gave me when he upgraded. Hope the water will clear up soon so I can move the corals in. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk

Got all the lights hooked up. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk

Ripped out most of my old DIY arduino controller, still got more stuff in there to take out. Thinking of redoing the entire controller for a more cleaner look. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk

Made 4 light hangers from EMT conduits. Could have done a better paint job but was rushing it. I think 4 ReeFi LEDs light be over kill but too late now to make any changes. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk

Got the tank side of the plumbing done...still need to work on the sump side which will be at the other side of the wall. Cut a 5.5"x6.5" hole in the dry wall and made 3D printed wall plates. Any bigger then I'll need a larger printer. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk

Thinking of putting 4 ReeFi LEDs.. Maybe one of each color. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
