  1. I had to use gelatin to bind the carrot juice. I fed them avocado before as treats. The tangs, wrasses, and cardinals really like it. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N930A using Tapatalk
  2. I have a coralline hob skimmer 220 with new pump. Asking for $75. http://m.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=13924&cmpid=03cseYY&gclid=Cj0KEQjwxqS-BRDRgPLp0q2t0IUBEiQAgfMXRMVUuT771o5ftGrlCdzcBn8AF32QQ8Mpnt82qWEckLEaAjwg8P8HAQ Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N930A using Tapatalk
  3. Instant ocean may have changed their formula. I have some really old buckets of I.O. and their Ca is around 350ppm and Mg 1200ppm. Newer version have Mg around 1400ppm and Ca at 400ppm. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N930A using Tapatalk
  4. Yes, I've fed LRS as well as pellets and flakes. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N930A using Tapatalk
  5. Wow, amazing! Awesome huge sps colonies, also love that huge goni! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N930A using Tapatalk
  6. Stopped by Asian market today and found this: Put some of that krill and regular frozen shrimp into food processer. I added about 1/8 of an avocado, one glove of garlic, table spoon roughly of paprika powder, a bit of seaweed sheet, and eyeball some carrot juice. Then I heated some gelatin then chilled before mixing all together. I wasn't sure how much gelatin so only added half a pack. Will try feed some tmr and report back. 7. Anyone have extra Tonga rock for sale? I'm looking for a piece that's at least 9" long. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N930A using Tapatalk
  8. How did you have the 4 mp40 placed? Were they placed near the seam failure? I'm guessing the on/off would exert 10+? lb of force. Maybe not enough to make a difference since the static force of the water is so much higher. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N930A using Tapatalk
  9. Maybe interested but need to check with wife. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
  10. Does anyone make their own fish food add veggies that contain carotene to enhance your fish color? I've noticed my 2 blue star leopard wrasses are not as blue and red as when they were first added when comparing old pics. I've fed them varies of commercial flakes, pellets, and frozen food plus frozen shrimps. Saw this article about enhancing and maintaining fish color with different veggies but for freshwater fish. Very interesting... I will make a small batch to see. http://www.sonnysfishroom.com/?page_id=252 Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
  11. Brian, if you're still looking for an external pump. I have used reeflo dart flow pump and iwaki 55 pressure pumps. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
  12. Good to have 2 drain holes to tune for silent overflow without worry about flooding. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
  13. DIY heater/fan controller with Arduino. 3 temp probes, 2 in sump for sanity check. 1 measure room temp. 2 heaters connected to controller, normally only turn 1 on when needed. The other is backup. If room temp is below 65F when on vacation, both heaters will turn on. If main heater is on but temp continues to drop 2 deg below set temp, main heater will be disabled and switch to backup heater. Text msg will be send to notify heater failure. 15. Got a pack of frozen small silverfish from Asian grocery store awhile back. Was test feeding my anemone but my triggers love them. They are a bit big for my smaller fish but just the right bite size for the triggers. Pretty fun feeding them with a tong. Will try take another video in fill daylight in the future. 16. I only just got them 2 days ago. They didn't eat on first day but started eating on 2nd day, ate flakes and frozen shrimp. They won't eat pellets yet. I have snails, hermits, 2 cleaner shrimps, 6 cucumbers, 3 clams. The first 2 days, my clown would chase/nip at them when they get too close to her anemone. They're so massive that they not as agile as my tangs, and last 2 mornings, I had to re-glue a couple sps corals that got knocked over. Today, the chromis and damsels seem less afraid of them.
  17. Hmm.. I don't know of any triggers that eat corals. Some/most are not considered reef safe cause they may eat crabs, shrimps, snails, and other small fish. Here's some info on crosshatch triggers: http://www.advancedaquarist.com/2002/10/fish General info on triggerfish: http://www.advancedaquarist.com/2007/7/fish Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk

  19. Yea, those ac/DC adaptors are not for fluorescent lights. Watts=Voltage*Current. 6V one is only 0.9watts max and 12V one is 2.4watta max. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
  20. Mine is black. Hoping Mike didn't switch black silicone too. I'll check with him. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
