  1. Ya I saw everyone's reviews, including yours Suncrest, and Dana riddles. It seems everyone is crazy about the reefi lights (or at least the extreme model). I haven't seen any info about the cheaper version... My main concern with spending that much is the lifespan of leds. Is it still typically 50,000hrs (best case scenario)? Or are they better these days? Also, Logan over at reefbreeders just offered to throw in the driver I need to fix my old light (so I can sell it) for free. He's always been great to work with. Honestly, unless you guys can tell me the reefi is an 100,000hr 10yr light, I'll probably go with the cheaper option.
  2. Just read 17 pages about the reefi lights over on r2r. Sigh this hobby hates my bank account
  3. Thanks for the reply! Where are you seeing these? Ebay? How many would I need? What's a good price for one?
  4. Also, I'm leaning towards new but if you have something lightly used for sale then I'm all ears
  5. Hey guys it's come time for me to replace my old reefbreeder photon 48" fixture and I'm a bit overwhelmed with all of the options out there these days. I'm looking at ai, Kessel, radion, reefbreeders, ect??? My tank is 60x18x24" I'm currently leaning towards the Reefbreeders v2+ 50 mainly because of the price (final price $715 shipped) Price is gonna be a big factor for me. Also, I don't care for wifi features. Thanks!
  6. I really thought I'd be essential (I replace windows and broken glass) but apparently not in wa. So here I sit. Both tanks are sparkling clean, lots of old frags have been epoxied on my rockwork, and I'm struggling to find more things I can do with the tank. We just took our evening walk with and brought the rc cars along which was fun. Other than that not much going on. I have 2 family member who are very sick and 2 coworkers who are recovering. Scary times. I did see a nice meme on R2R today, I'll share it with you all!
  7. The best eel for keeping with smaller fish is usually the snowflake eel. I had one in a predator tank for a few years When I originally went to buy it the lfs owner lifted the rock it was hiding under and there were 3 dead damsels under it....
  8. I have 2 engineer gobys (which are still pretty new tbh) and ya they dig but haven't done any damage. I also heard everyone saying they would topple my rockwork but what I've found is that's just people repeating info they've heard from other people that don't own the gobies themselves. I did a R2R post on the subject and got some good advice from people that actually own engineer gobies and found that they aren't so bad. I can link it if you want.
  9. Any eel will potentially be a threat to your smaller fish. I'm not sure how big that tank is or if you have sand but check out then engineer goby. The adults look like eels
  10. Very strange. I'm assuming if the local aquarium is on the way then they aren't typical in the pnw?
  11. Petsmart also does a $1 per gallon sale. That's where I got my 40b tank for my sump (keep in mind that was 5 years ago)
  12. I just heard the news guys, I'm so sorry.... https://katu-com.cdn.ampproject.org/v/s/katu.com/amp/news/local/oregon-allows-self-service-at-gas-stations-amid-coronavirus-pandemic?amp_js_v=a3&amp_gsa=1&usqp=mq331AQFKAGwASA%3D#aoh=15854307524342&referrer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com&amp_tf=From %1%24s&ampshare=https%3A%2F%2Fkatu.com%2Fnews%2Flocal%2Foregon-allows-self-service-at-gas-stations-amid-coronavirus-pandemic
  13. Also some people complain about the metal probes on these, here mine after being in the sump for years. No rust at all (the brownish stuff is algae)
  14. I didn't watch the video but I already see 2 monumental problems with this product. One, those are European plugs, and two I still don't have wifi! Come on pdx, get it together 😉
  15. Love it! Keep us posted (we're bored too)!
  16. I was using gorilla glue super glue gel for quite a while with great results but I switched back to loctite gel when I realized I couldn't confirm that gorilla was cyanoacrylate glue. Can you guys confirm it's ingredients??
  17. Ya I agree with coralreef, I just used the regular wood bits, not spade bits.
  18. Xmas that's actually a really cool idea, maybe there's a market out there for selling something like that? Lol shay your gonna need a big rock and a few drill bits!
  19. I just used a cheapo Irwin wood drill bit. Live rock is pretty soft
  20. Are they just the black box type of leds? If yes then I'd say 3 of those would be perfect for your 180g
  21. I've got the solution! Take a small flattish rock and drill frag plug sized holes in it. Fill it with frags and your sandbed will look much cleaner!
  22. Seafood like clams, mussels, squid, shrimp, octopus... I buy a cheap seafood medley pack from winco or the Asian market
  23. Toilet paper is going for $60 a roll over here in wa, I'll give you like 8 or 9 rolls (most will be partially used)!
  24. Is it a thick redish slime or a brown dust? (colors can be tricky to tell in reef pics)
  25. Thanks for the input guys but I have to admit I was messing with you all. The low flow was because it had an anemone clogging it! Probably a good call on making the R2R thread trashing koralia, I'm sure lots of mp40 users would jump on board with me (I love my koralia pumps)!
