Here’s my new sump set up. No more marinepure spheres, no more reactor. I’m waiting for my custom sump from Charles and I had already bought a kessil h80 also here’s a frag from upscales from last weekend. Doing well!

Quick update. The tanks is now 4 months old. Last month I lost half of my corals and the other half was dying. Sent a icp test and the results two weeks later showed an aluminum level over 100. I quickly removed the 4 quarts of marinepure spheres I had in a sump and did 5 30% water changes over a week. The corals that weren’t competely dead are recovering but aren’t looking good. For some reason, zoas and mushrooms were unaffected. Then today, i decided to empty my chaeto reactor and noticed a lot of salt creep on it. Turns out he marinedepot dyi chaeto reactor wasn’t well thought out and the heat of the led strips cracked the plastic. Could have been a disaster but looks like I caught it in time.

Florida already has all the good stuff. These frags need to stay in OR

I also got a box of fritz to replace my red sea pro. I like the DKH/ca/mag values of the fritz which match my reef better

you could test TDS level of that rodi water. I used his saltwater a couple weeks ago to do a large water change and the corals are all super happy

I’m looking to upgrade my reefer 170 sump to have a larger refugium compartment. Are there any local custom builders before I order something online? Any recommendations? Looking for a 17”x17”x17” cube sump with a skimmer chamber, refugium chamber and return chamber

Nice ad/commercial for algae scrubber which I’m sure are a good way to export nutrients. Meanwhile my chaeto reactor seems to do a good job interestingly, the chaeto itself gets covered in slime and hair algae as well
