  1. It’s not a bad light... $700 would easily cover a 48x24 tank
  2. So the photon v2 is definitely too short for a 60” tank. I get a lot of shadows on both ends. The spectrum is not at pleasing as the orphek. But it seems to have a lot of punch for a $700 fixture. I ordered a second one so have both on the tank while I get my orphek fixed i would say overall the orphek is a much better light
  3. Ideally I would have two of them side to side to get the front and back spread of the orphek. When I build a new system I will just have two photon v2 side by side
  4. Just received my back up light so I can service my orphek. I gotta say im super impressed with the photon v2. Comes with everything and the mounting is awesome. Can’t wait to try it out. Programming was not intuitive but only took about 10 min
  5. My automated calcium reactor was a breeze. I love it and it performs very well but because my reef is in a living area with no fish room I wanted to make it quieter. 2 part is silent and I now appreciate my reef more
  6. Newest goni in the Manny’s reef. That’s kinda cool...
  7. You get lots of biodiversity from vermitid snail, aiptasia and bristle worms
  8. this is like having 24/7 strip clubs...I won't financially recover from this...
  9. I personally would dose both 2 part but dose part 1 at half the rate of part 2 that way everything balances out more smoothly. but it depends on what's in the tank. No acros...no worries. Mo' acro's...mo' problems
  10. Can’t wait to see it filled with a bunch of yellow tangs
  11. Not a single issue so far...fingers crossed
  12. I decided to take down the calcium reactor and try esv bionic.
  13. Is anybody like me? I do a sump deep clean every 3 months.
  14. Thanks. Heard the controller is a pain in the butt. Is it true?
  15. More space means more corals!
  16. So the company emailed back within 12 hours. Since my light is out of warranty I have to pay for replacement part but they are sending me a new LED board that I would need to install myself. It’s $200. Will give that a try
  17. Been seeing all these bad reviews about orpheks reliability and thought maybe it would spare me. Sadly no these have been used for 21 months and I came home to a weird look in the tank. The left side was dimmer and less blue. Turns out a bunch of the blue led’s are off/dead. So I switched the lights to blue only and sure enought it’s missing at least 10. Those are $1100 each and for the price I don’t want to deal with another failure which seem to be common. These lights grow corals like no other but they also break like no other Thinking about trying the reefbreeders photon v2 50inch ($700) because I am a fan of wide spread light. I was considering a T5 hybrid option but I don’t really see the need since my corals have grown pretty well with LED only any suggestions?
  18. Install repeaters where the Internet sucks
