  1. I feel heaters are a necessity and I believe with a tempature probe on an apex it can be set to shut off your heater when the specified temp is reached. I know from freshwater world alot of people prefer to run 2 smaller heaters so if one fails the tank doesn't overheat to rapidly or cool off too much. But the apex with a temp probe and a heater with some kind of thermostat should be pretty solid redundancy!
  2. Gorgeous aquarium Daniel. One of these days I'll have to get some pictures of how you supported your conduit very nice setup!
  3. paintball setup is ok but on a 20 oz only lasts a month at most running 8 hours a day. the amazon aqua whatever regulators are pretty decent for 90 bucks. and for a cheap cylinder alot of people use co2 fire extinguishers

    Jebao Gyre

I've heard gyre is suppose to be the best way to go for anything over 4ft at least based on all the reading I've done today.

    Jebao Gyre

Dunpeal how are you liking the jebao cp-40. Really on the fence of supporting maxspect or paying less than half the price
  6. Looks really nice! Is that a Bean Animal setup?
  7. You just don't know the right electricians then! ☺ Also I may know a guy for plumbing I just text him I will keep you updated.
  8. Well picked up these today for water storage. And it was a pain emptying the cooler every 40 minutes yesterday. And it turns out the garden house threads right into a return pump I have just need to get a male to male adapter tomorrow and I'll be able to water the lawn with the waste water. Got the male to male adapter. Was almost the perfect amount of pressure.
  9. Please close admins got both piece today thank you!
  10. Thank you I still need to figure what size holes to drill and how many and overflow design!but good to know I was lucky enough to drill my other holes on the drill press but not sure I'll be able to do the tank on there.
  11. That's good good idea I'll start looking into it! Thank you jorge
  12. Seems dangerous when I was just drilling glass I had alot more water cooling the bit than towels could handle was running a garden hose at pretty high flow rate. Also seems very risky. I'm going to drill my 125 soon for overflows and I'm scared and it doesn't have anything in it.
  13. Thank you just from reading the Internet it has me scared of using live rock I know it should be fine but just seems scary my luck I'd get something bad in there. I may change my mind though. Thank you for the info!
  14. Thanks it was great meeting you as well. I really hope the sump works out if not I guess I have all the tools to build another one hahaha!
  15. I just want to give you guys a big thank you for donating the 4 stage value plus RO/DI filter. I was the lucky winner and works out perfect since I'm just getting started up with reefing! Thank you again!!! And also for your great YouTube videos!
  16. Thank you Jorge! I have one wave maker but think it may be too much much flow for this amount of water so need to get a smaller one. What temp do you guys reccomend? Also I can do with no live rock correct just will take longer? After adding bacteria Jumpstart do you feed the bacteria during the cycle with anything like pure ammonia?
  17. It just looks like that if you look closely it's going into the cooler next to the tub.
  18. Looking to see if anyone has either of these laying around for cheap before I buy new thanks for looking!
  19. Little update so I don't start slacking off. First a few weeks ago I bought about 75 lbs of dry pukani from beer503 Then I wanted to begin cycling the rock so was getting ready to buy some ro/di water from higher thinking when I was lucky enough to win the ro/di system from the monthly meeting/ bbq very thankful for that. Feel almost bad being my first meeting and winning So I got it setup temporarily today so I can start to cycle this rock. So that's my update for now. Also bought a 2 little fishies reactor from powder blue. Any tips on cycling rock are appreciated and thanks for such a great community looking forward to being apart of it for a long time!
